I had it 116-112 Kessler. Great fight, just a step too far for Froch.

Froch was hurt in one of those rounds. Really stung by a right hand, the coms completely brushed it over and claimed he was simply off balance even though he went on the defensive. MK tried to go in for the kill but Froch was still strong and recovered really well.

I don't think Kessler was ever hurt in the fight which was a surprise to me. Thought he might have had the body checked a little more.

I disagree, I think Kessler was at least shook lightly a few times, more so than Froch was.

There was definitely a couple panicky moments in the later rounds for Kessler where it looked a real possibility where Carl could get to him but he took pretty much every shot well and showed good stamina to fight at such a high tempo in the last few rounds.

On 5 Live they noted how much he was hurt in the 8th and how Kessler kept hurting Froch to the body (which Froch admitted after the fight).

  6. What a load of complete crap, he almost went in the last round.

The fight went exactly how the majority thought it would.

But they all expected Froch to be able to break Kesslers heart.

It was all bolloxs. They all made Froch a monster and Kessler somebody with no guts.

    Utter ****.

Kessler got shaken in the fifth and in the tenth, I think.

Kessler looked fearful (Rd5)?and I thought Froch was going to do him but he came back very well.
Glad really thought Mikkel was going to move onbut he showed he's still got fire in his belly

I think at the end of the day, in simple terms, I think it all boiled down to Kessler being the busier(if possibly not the more accurate - though it's close), the man going forward/"aggressor" (Froch going backward most the time) and the man being at home.

Balls was he. Even when Kessler was hit he fought back every time out of pride, he was never remotely hurt. Carl went back onto the ropes and covered up when that right hand hit him and Kessler unloaded. He knew he had him stunned but ultimately Froch wasn't badly hurt like the Taylor fight. That was the only moment anybody looked shaken in the fight really, I thought it was a distance fight but I thought with both being punchers with little defence there would be more shakey moments.

Froch never tested Kessler's body at all which was a mistake.

Did the majority think Froch would break Kesslers heart?

He certainly showed that, full credit to him.

I was surprised at the end how exceptionally jubilant he was, I think it may have showed in a way he was doubting himself and not that sure he would win (though he didn't display this beforehand) - that it may have been the end.

He never looked fearful, he fell over. The actual punch grazed his gloves, the commentators nearly ejaculated over that non event ! Carl landed his best right hand tonight a couple times and got no response. Kessler's best right hand had Froch backed up, and ultimately I think thats why Froch didn't show more tonight, he felt the power and had to bide his time until Kessler was weaker. Shame Kessler's accuracy was really bad tonight I thought.
