Hit the nail on the head. Calzaghe and Ward both showed that Kessler has a "soft" body really. Very strange that Froch never tried to attack it.

 

Thats what I mean...a guy thats been hurt to the body and only down once in his career amateur or pro..you've got to look for that body rather than just head hunting. Didn't really happen, Froch never really got into position to hit that body. Most of his punches were looping long range types. He would have got some joy out of the body more than the chin I believe.

 

Wasn't badly hurt like the Taylor fight, what the **** are you talking about? Actually i think Froch was hurt with that chopping right hand. Most of the posters on here don't know how to score for ****. Froch landed so many more jabs throughout the fight, in the first 4 rounds he controlled it with the jab although Kessler took 1 round with one even during this period. Then Froch took the 5th big and should have been given the knockdown. Kessler didn't slip and Froch knocked him down even though it was blocked. Froch got cocky. Kessler took the middle rounds before Froch came on strong down the stretch. Froch took that fight.

 

I assume that's towards me? Well, I watched the fight and he was clearly shaken twice by Carl. But crucially he stood with Froch and fired back.

That shot in the eighth from Kessler definitely stiffened Froch's legs.

Both recovered very fast and it wasn't really an issue.

 

Heard Froch after and apparently it was Kessler going to the body that hindered him.

 

The punch didn't land legally, so it can't be a knockdown. Kessler slipped.

Kessler took the more hurtful punches in that fight. - he looked ropey several times.

Froch was stunned a couple of times too.

Definitely no knock down, clear in the replay Kessler was off balance and slipped, no punch had landed.

Froch was exposed for what he is tonight, which is a very good but limited fighter. Kessler controlled the fight from the 3rd or 4th round.

 

Ropey in the sense he'd just been punched in the head by a heavy puncher - yeah. You aren't exactly going to look full of life at that moment. But the crucial sign is he'd always fire back pretty instantaneously, he was rarely on the ropes under onslaught and his legs never stiffened and Froch suffered all of those particularly on the right hand I mentioned. You were just hopeful, I know that **** didn't happen because if it would have I'd have been biting my nails but I never felt like Kessler was hurt. :yep

I was more worried when he was swinging in the last round and looked tired as fook, could have got himself hit with something big.
