Its not just a matter of going to the body, you've gotta know how to set it up, Froch would've got countered like crazy if he tried going downstairs as it would've just been a one punch job and no feints or set up. Carl just has awful technique, Kessler's body work was very good particularly the right to the body. The most important punch in boxing worked wonders for Mikkel and thats the jab, Froch couldn't avoid it and Kessler should've established it much more. Lets be honest fellas the only reason Froch was competitive and given a big chance was because Kessler was seemingly coming to the end, the Kessler who fought Calzaghe perhaps dominates Froch. A lot of people based their pick on that Ward fight.
I think a lot of you guys just don't like Froch's style and probably predicted a Kessler victory. Froch should have been awarded a close decision.
I think thats true. Tonight doesn't change the fact Kessler looks a lot slower and isn't as accurate as he was. He was only just about quicker than Froch really. Still isn't what he was back in the day in the Andrade/Calzaghe fights. If he was I think he'd have dominated this guy tonight because as I've said before Froch is not really significantly better than Andrade, nothing thats going to make a 12-0 hammering a close fight if Kessler is on the same form.
Did the Danish crowd boo Froch after the fight? I'm sure I heard that. Not bothered about national anthems, couldn't give a shite, but thought that a bit off after the huge brawl they had just given us. Maybe it was just my crap radio sound.
It was after Froch said he thought he won. He got them back onside 2 mins later by saying Kessler was a great bloke.
They booed him when he said that if the fight was in Nottingham he "would have been awarded the win" but the cheered him when he said the "Danish fans were fantastic". Fickle lot.
