Would Froch of beaten Kessler with a performance like he produced tonight?

Or is Kessler still too good for him?

Performance isn't this mystical thing that can be transferred and imposed upon other fights. You always have to react to your opponent. There isn't any use comparing it because the difference is Kessler didn't stand there doing nothing, he imposed his fight on Froch.

Kessler won the first fight, but it was very much a fight that deserved a rematch.

Froch was bad in the Kessler fight imo and still came fairly close(showtime had froch winning, i didn't)

I definatley think if froch had been a bit more sensible, and saved some gas for later on he could have beaten kessler.

It's all in the gameplan, how it works and a fighter's commitment to stick to it. There's many different gameplans for many differenet fighters; some are wrong, some are right, some aren't stuck to, some they fail to change when their opponents do. It's hard to say if Froch's gameplan would've worked on Kessler, personally I think it would've, but it also comes down to how Kessler would fight, react, what position of his career he'd be in and if he was injured/distracted.

i did say or is kessler still too good, which would imply he wouldnt just stand infront of him, going on the actual fight they had.

Saved some gas? People were complaining he didn't throw enough and that he was too cautious, but you wanted him to actually save more gas?

Body punches take it out of you. As we saw tonight, Froch invested in the body and got his rewards. Arthur's usual plan was completely ****ed by that, he had nothing to give at the end. Kessler did the same, it took a lot out of Froch.

There is no need for some mythical match up here. It took place 7 months ago, and Kessler got the W.

Hard to say, I felt that Froch used his jab well in the early rounds, then began to neglect it from 3/4 onwards and got into a tear up late on.

Still had him drawing the fight though.

Froch had a few problems leading up to the kessler fight its a known fact, fair enough.
But i think his ego and wanting a war was his downfall. He's gone back worked on how to box again and looked better for it.

But he only had arthur "i dont like to throw alot" abraham infront of him lol.

He fought a bit like Kessler tonight, for the first few rounds.
Abraham threw so little back its difficult to tell if Froch was doing anything better than when he fought Mikkel.

Froch-Kessler II is another 50-50 affair IMO, but I'm not sure how much Kessler has left.

Fact is, he won the first fight, which was bloody competitive, fair and square (116-112 on my card) and Froch would have to summon an either etter showing to win in a rematch and stop Kessler from outpunching him. Easier said than done.

Fight deserves a rematch, that is for sure. Although I had a clear win for Kessler, it was a bloody close fight.

It's difficult to compare though. Froch boxed beautifully tonight, but Abraham did nothing to mix it up. He repeatedly asked the same questions of Froch, and found the answer on the back of a stiff jab. Who's to say the fight would of went the same way if Abraham tried to adapt and do something different.

Think Kessler is finished tbh, if he does have visual problems, the last thing he needs is a second war with Froch.
