Froch at 168 beats him comfortably

IMO KOvalev is special in pretty much the same way GGG is. Too lazy to get into details now but "normal" world class fghters don't beat them. It would take someone of Floyd's or Pac's caliber to make it a good fight.

I don't think KOvalev has perhaps quite GGGs ring IQ, but has a natural fluidity, heavy handedness and unique style that makes him almost as great a threat. For me, and without disrespect to Froch (who to me is one of the sports great warriors) both of them beat Carl - but not without a battle.

Does anybody know how Froch would perform at LHW or how Kovalev would do at SMW? Some fighters just dont seem the same when they go into a different weight division

Kovalev has said previously he can't really go down to 168 - though whether that is through choice or ability I ain't certain. As an educated guess I'd say he fights around 182-4.

Froch is a conditioning freak whose weight varies very little. He walks and fights about 172-3 and has hardly varied in 11 years - I'm guessing he ain't about to change now.

? Ward is the most slippery fish outside Floyd. Yet you think Froch is wrong? Someone who usually can be drawn into battle?

Froch is a warrior with an iron chin, HUGE RESPECT to the man, but face the facts, Kovalev would ruin him, particularly if you take into account how easy he is to hit and that he's not a young fighter anymore

Oh ****. This would be amazing.

These guys have the chin to stand in the pocket and trade with each other.

Oh most assuredly. Golovkin and Kovalev would be like ships lost at sea versus Pacquiao.

I have massive respect for Froch and his resilience, I also credit him with good power, though see him as more an accumulation puncher who wears down his opponents with sheer dogged determination.

A sustained trade with Kovalev however is not a winnable prospect, even for a warrior of Frochs stature. Kovalev lands harder, more accurately and in greater volume. It would, however, undoubtedly be a war as long as it lasted.

It would certainly be a good fight while it lasts. Froch is a warrior but he often relies on his chin and he's always up there to trade. That would be the wrong thing to do versus Kovalev unless you can constantly keep hitting him and not getting hit, something Froch isn't able to do and maintain. Imo Froch would go down in the end after very good fight.

Mark Twain = one of the most overrated authors of all time. Kind of like the way you overrate Froch.
