Froch has mentioned Kessler. Just need to read more outside the forum postings.

Supposedly Froch had to make two mandatory defenses after winning the title since it was vacant when he took it.

    Taylor was his first.

The Ward/Miranda winner might be his second, especially if it's Ward since he's already in the top spot (assuming Taylor will drop after his loss).

Froch will beat either one of them, if that fight were to happen.

This fight makes all the sense in the world. Forch gets to fight another highly ranked 'American' based fighter. If Miranda stops Ward (which I think he will), it should be enough for the doubters to quit saying he is ruined and believe he may have what it takes to beat Froch. Like Hermit said, it would be a great buildup and a war in the ring as long as it last. Neither guy has much defense and can punch like mules. Froch has the obvious better chin, so he would no doubt be favored, but if Pantera can land an early bomb it could change things quickly.

Plus Showtime would be all over it. How about the fight tking place in England, but live on Showtime! It'd be nice!

If Ward beats Miranda in impressive fashion - he is ready to fight anyone in the 168 lb dvision.

Froch/Miranda sounds like a great fight but I think Froch wants bigger names like Kessler, Bute or Andrade.

Kessler is a bigger name. Bute is just starting to get a name for himself outside of Canada. I dont think many know Andrade much and unless he defeats Bute in their rematch he would not mean much to Froch.

But, no doubt, if Froch can get a fight with Kessler or Bute he should grab that. I just dont see either one happening anytime this year.

Pantera, I watched Miranda's last performance, and it was shockingly poor...he was loading up huge shots one after another against a stationary target captive in the corner, whom he held with his free hand, and he was still not being effective...:-(

...what makes you think he'll perform anywhere as well as he used to at his peak (whenever that was)...and what makes you think that even if he does, he'll have enough against Ward, unless Ward really cocks it up badly...:think

Sadly the odds are Miranda will lose on points against Ward, which will likely screw up he chances for another title fight. It would be great if he could face another slugger like Froch. That would be a seriously entertaining fight, while it lasts. Although Miranda's chin isn't as hard as Froch's, he has a 3 inch reach advantage. Long-armed punchers can be very dangerous.

Obviously he was trying a little too hard to get the early knockout. However I concur, Miranda needs to get back to the fundamentals.

I agree with you that Miranda was far from impressive in his last fight. I would guess that was a big factor in Ward's team taking this fight. I cant go into details, but I have reason to believe you will see a different Miranda in Oakland on May 16th. If I am wrong than Ward wins by UD. Just 2 1/2 weeks and we will have answers to where Miranda's future will be.
