What a great fight, and I think it is worth watching a second time .... Great action, two great fighters, both men down... an instant classic. I was sort of rooting for Taylor in that one, but Froch really put on a great performance. How do you feel about this fight? FOTY Candidate ? Its hard to go against Marquez vs Diaz IMO.... Heres a couple of good rounds for you to enjoy... gotta see the championship rounds.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcnjSY4VyKM
Was a great fight..not one of my favorites but dramatic ending. Gotta hand it to Froch he tooks some wicked shots from Taylor but hung in there..really wore him down and when he smelt blood he showed a very good killer instinct to finish it.
This fight happened on my birthday and being English I was routing for Froch, I was getting very depressed as I thought he hadn't done enough and the hype was over with this lad before it began, I hadn't seen a way from his previous fights that he could beat Taylor but that final round had me on my feet screaming...been a while since that happened so it gets my vote from my incredibly bias viewpoint.
It's worth watching MANY times!!! I was there and will never forget the experience, especially having supported Froch since his pro debut. Never doubt a man with a strong mind!!!
The fight was good, but the ending made it spectacular. Froch didn't get lucky, he kept up the pressure and was clearly hurting Taylor in the championship rounds. Froch knew, from seeing the press row scoring, that he was probably behind and went for a big finish in the twelfth. Taylor couldn't take Froch's punches. Great comeback. Froch won on heart, power and tenacity. Luck didn't come into it.
I must have missed that fight as the one I saw had Taylor school Froch for most of the previous 11 rounds and Froch needing a knockout to win going into the 12th. Changing the subject, very, very slightly, someone in the latest issue of The Ring has compared Carl Froch to James Toney... atsch
it was great boxing from taylor for most of the first seven rounds before froch started to tighten his grip on the match, that said a bit more stamina for taylor would have seen him through
Maybe in the fact that they've both got big mouths? Surely they're not talking about similar styles? Anyway, I think this 'Taylor was schooling Froch for 11 rounds' is getting a bit overplayed by some. I had it 7-3-1 in favour of Taylor going into the 12th. If Jermain had survived to the bell, which would have meant taking another knee instead of dropping his hands and standing on the spot at the point of stoppage, my score would have been 114-112 Taylor - hardly a schooling
Yeh great 3rd round. Just love it how Bute goes nuts in the crowd, after the Froch KD. I think Taylor will look back on this fight at how he didn't follow-up after the initial KD as he had Froch in serious trouble. Clearly he had terrible thoughts of the Pavlik 1 fight, and concerned about gasing out later on.
