Jermain's mistake was the way he handled the entire 2nd and 3rd minutes of that 3rd round. If Froch had been in there with a good finisher, he would not have made it out of that round.
Froch was caught off balance and momentarily stunned,he wasn't wiggling his hips and pulling funny faces like ya boy Kelly.
Froch was a lot more than caught off balance. Watch the last 2/3rds of the 3rd round. I'm not talking about just the knock down. After a few viewings of that 3rd round I really have concluded that Froch should not have made it the bell. Jermain should have jumped on his ass and finished him long BEFORE the knockdown. Froch was getting his ass absolutely handed to him. A good finisher would have closed the show about halfway through the round. Jermain is not a good finisher, and never has been.
DEFINITELY not FOTY. It was an exciting fight, with lots of drama, uncertainty and a climactic ending. But it was a puristic embarrassment. Froch does have - and showed - balls; but, yet again, he showed his total inability to defend himself, throw combinations, use hand-speed or to generally obey the rudiments of boxing. Taylor was depressingly lazy after round 8, and any athlete coming into the ring unable or unwilling to fight to the end is really a sorry sight. And, worst of all, the Froch myth has grown as a result.
He was certainly stunned. Regardless, he was open to taking punishment and being finished off there and then. Someone like Kessler or Pavlik would not have let him off the hook.
If fine means getting battered around the ring while your opponent hits you at will, then ya, Froch was fineatsch
:rofl And Froch haters believe Taylor is on the floor because he got tired and of course those hard right hands had nothing to do with it right?
Why do people keep going on about the fact Taylor was ahead on points. That is true and I dont see how anyone could have Froch ahead by the 12th but the aim of the game is to KO the other guy. Score cards are just a sensible way to decide a winner after a reasonable amount of time if neither fighter can KO their opponent. Being ahead on points is insignificant.
This is fairly accurate, and this is where Ozell Nelson ****ed up big time. He told Jermain he needed to win the last 2 rounds BIG. He should have told him "ya got it the bag son. Make this mother****er slow dance for two rounds, and you're going home a champion," because anybody with half a god damn brain could see that JT had the fight won. Without the 11th round fireworks the 12th would have been completely different.
