maybe you've right that showtime wants to mega-hype ward and turn him into a big star but still i think he will beat Froch !

Froch has the puncher chance , to catch ward with some solid shots into his chin but i don't think is gonna happen.
Lucian Bute has the best chances to beat Ward imo .........

Froch isn't getting enough credit, the man's a world class fighter he'll have a few tricks up his sleeve.

The Way I see it is like this.

Kessler grossly underrated Ward and paid the cost, im not sure he could of won but he'd of done better if he knew what he was in for.

Green also underrated Wrd and overrated himself thinking he'd ko him easily.

Bika and Abraham did not underestimate Ward and won several rounds each against him, neither is anywhere near as good as Froch is.

Froch has had what? 8 months to prepare for Ward, he hasn't underestimated him and he has one of the most realistic trainers in the game (Mcracken) who will have drilled in good gameplans.

All that doesnt mean Froch wuill win, but i give him the best shot of anyone yet.

i think froch will give a good account of himself. Just watched the glen johnson fight and i was very impressed with the way froch put his punches together, he was very fluid and relaxed and threw punches in bunches which is always good against anyone. Ward will probably win though.

I like your way of thinking. Think there is some truth especially with regards to Kessler. I'm not saying he didn't physically prepare but maybe not mentally. Still a quality performance from Ward - rewatched it tonight. That Ward takes out any Froch imo.

It's important that Froch stays disciplined and stays side-on rather than square on, which often happens with him when he gets reckless and his jab isn't working too well. Staying side on will somewhat negate Ward's snappy lead rights, whereas otherwise he will just keep getting peppered all night with it. Kessler was very square on and he paid price, so Froch has to use this versality factor to his advantage. Of course Ward can go southpaw and just attempt to walk Carl down, and fire short lefts in close and uppercuts etc.

That's the key to the fight IMO. Can Ward just smother Carl's shots in order to get in close and use his speed and mobility? If he can Froch will get very ragged and distressed, lose discipline in his outside game, and get clobbered from pillar to post. If Froch nails Ward coming with his heavy cork screw shots and effectively wins those close exchanges by halting them before Ward can start - then he could make it interesting. Ward looks to have gears to go though and might render the above a bit meaningless if he does.

I just think you can't underestimate what I am going to call the Reading Football Club effect with Carl Froch.

His mental strength is an extra arm. So many times last season Reading played brutally "effective" football. There were far more talented teams, but we just managed to win by unequivocally sticking to our strengths and not giving up (we broke a record for more "comeback" wins in a season).

I see Carl Froch's point blank refusal to believe he is being beat as key in this fight. Ward is that good that people do give up and then it turns into a sparring session for him, Carl Froch will never do that and how will Ward react to that? You don't know for sure, but it can make a difference.

The Khan/Peterson comparisons are well worth making. Khan is a better boxer than Peterson, but couldn't handle being taken out of his comfort zone. Khan's punches weren't enough to make Peterson back down - I feel the same with Froch and Ward.

A key point here is that Ward could be a victim of his own success. He's been good enough to stop people fighting, Carl won't. He's been able to operate in his comfort zone, I don't think Carl will let him do that easily.

Put bluntly, Ward has to show us something a little different to beat Carl. I for one will tip my hat to him if he does.

Well I called it perfectly just as I have called many fights perfectly on this forum.

I also made a large sum of money tonight due to my intelligence and the idiotic patriotism of mugs.

    Goodnight.

Do you want a medal for predicting a 1/2 shot? I respect your 10 years posting on forums but the way you are acting here is like only a 5 year veteran. Shameful from a forum stalwart like you.
