There's an awful lot of talk about Froch being the bigger, stronger, tougher guy. I just don't see it that way. Ward is a unit himself - He ain't going to be bullied by anyone in this division.

Ward brings speed and movement but I dont see him being as powerful as say a Glen Johnson or Jean Pascal, both guys who Froch beat.

Could be wrong but I think Carl will be the bigger, stronger fighter in there tonight ...

The only factor that is yet to be seen is how well Ward handles a guy constantly coming at him. We've never seen him in with a guy like Johnson who doesn't let him work the way he'd like.

Froch brings a lot of pressure even though he's not a high-workrate sort of fighter. He crowds his opponent, makes them worry and use their legs. So he could, conceivably, get Ward out of position and land good shots.

So we need to see what happens when Ward doesn't discourage his opponent and can't dictate everything in the ring. I don't really think Froch can outdo Ward, he lacks the physical tools for speed and explosiveness to counteract the younger man's skills. But he can take it to his opponent and try to wear him down late.

Ward isn't as explosive as Taylor was, but he's more considered. I wonder whether he'll work on the inside as much this fight as he has in others.

Just watching first round of Miranda fight and Ward gets hit with clean right hand, followed by head he's on ropes turns to ref to moan and Miranda cuffs him with left hook but not enough to really seize advantage.

I've been watching bits of Ward this week just to get more of a feel for the fight and he's really easy to upset for someone who likes roughing people up.

I hope Carl appreciates that I am pulling a sicky tomorrow so I can stay up and watch him tonight when I didn't for my favourite fighter last week. In all honesty, he will almost certainly get mullered but I don't think anything would make me happier than if he somehow wins tonight; if nothing else the homecoming in Nottingham will be immense!!

    Needless to say...WAR!!!

Anyone ever feel butterflies up to the fight? I only ever get this when Froch or Haye are fighting and a few years ago Hatton. Really hoping Carl can do it.

I don't know about butterflies, but I am seemingly soiling myself.

"Joe Calzaghe's record has more question marks on it than the Riddler's catsuit."

    Carl Froch.
