If it goes to pursebids it's very likely Dibella would lose. It's fairly likely he wouldn't put in a serious bid and pretty good odds that Taylor withdraws either before or immediately after the pursebid.

70/30 is the 'normal' champion/challenger split, but that can be adjusted.

What you're saying involves a lot of speculation about figures we don't have... mainly what Showtime's budget is for the fight.

I wouldn't underestimate a slapper. They are proven as effective.

Pascal and Taylor share a few things in common, except Taylor is better and has more top level experience. Yet Froch's sloppy work managed to make that fight an 8-4 type decision, maybe even 7-5. It wouldn't bode well for a fight against Taylor, thats my main basis for reversing my thoughts.

I still think Andrade would give Taylor all he can handle, and maybe more when I think about Taylor's stamina, and tendency to get sloppy with defence when tired.

    Is he a reliable source?

AFAIK that was simply a PR issued by the Miranda camp, trying to talk themselves into a fight. Until I hear from either side they are actually negotiating, I won't believe it.

I take Taylor over Froch, but i dont think that taylor can rule the division .
honestly i think there a couple of boxer who could put him in trouble in the SM , and same thing for the 160.Taylor got almost everything to wish from a boxer but hes still missing a litlle something mentaly.

There's no way Froch would make a million from this fight. HBO doesn't even want the fight on their network. The economy is in tatters. Froch is out of his mind. Like previously stated, the guy is a paper champion. What has he done to make such demands?

    Fair enough.

Yeah I just can't see Taylor's promoter letting some guy from England who has done nothing of note yet (although I think he could win some good fights against some of the outer top ten SMWs over the next few years) hustle them out of a million bucks. They just won't accept it.

    I agree.

But then I've been saying since last summer that Dibella and Taylor would not make this fight, and outlined exactly how it would go down. Back then the threads were full of people telling me that I was wrong, that Taylor was fighting an eliminator, so of course he would fight for the title and that Taylor ducks no-one.

It seems that most of those people have either disappeared or changed their tune.

At the end of the day no-one avoids a title fight to fight an eliminator for the same title fight if they seriously intend actually making that fight.

Yes. Pantera2000 'has an ear' in that camp. He only says they are talking so that is probably why Warriors released that. Trying to MAKE it happen. Taylor has a date, a budget and a network. Someone had posted that an offer had been made to Froch and he turned it down. So, that sounds like it may have been solid.

I still wonder if Froch would be ready to go by that date. There was a question in my mind that he might be trying to get the fight signed and may at a later date postpone. While I wouldn't trust anything Marley posted, it will be interesting to see if Froch fights before June. Sometimes liars tell the truth by accident and someone probably told him something.

The value of the pound has fallen more against the dollar so its less than that, anyway,it is reasonable Froch now holding the WBC belt as champion and fighting Taylor in the states, but Jermain Taylor to him is more important than the purse.

I think Taylor got $2.5 mill for that fight. Lacy got $.5 mill. I think they had hoped Pascal would win and would then deal with him.

    i hope Taylor-Froch gets made

and as for this comment posted on page 2

"Maybe throw in Devon Alexander ... and some other fighters from DBE1 and/or DKP."

^ dunno if you heard the news but Alexander and Witter are supposed to fight for the 140 WBC Interim Belt

**maybe if cooler heads prevail HBO or Showtime could pick up the Taylor-Froch Witter/Alexander fights and put it on as a UK vs USA co feature
