    He's really not.

Actually, he's very similar in size to Andre Ward.

Golovkin has been steadily moving higher fight to fight in his weight upon entering the ring ... from 168 (Proksa fight) to 170 (Macklin fight) to 173 ...

Don't have the Murray numbers but he was 173 lbs for Rubio (who came in over the middleweight limit and entered the ring at 181 lbs)

Ward was 176 lbs for Dawson (Chad came in at 185 lbs)

Golovkin is 179 cm in height (5'10.5") versus Ward at 183 cm (6'0")

    Golovkin's reach is 178 cm (70") versus Ward's at 180 cm (71")

So, GGG is putting on 13 lbs from 160 while Ward puts on 8 from 168.

A rather immaterial difference between the two ...

That might work actually. Golovkin is an relentless offensive fighter. What happens when he is pushed on the back foot? Is he as effective, as dominating? Froch could do to Golovkin what Pavlik did to Miranda.

Because he wants to be a world superstar, and to do that you have to beat up people that both you aren't expected to walk through and that have huge fanbases of their own.

Beating someone like Froch on their home turf would really elevate GGG. Lots of people haven't seemed to really internalize this yet, but Froch is on Manny level now in terms of drawing power.

Good post-GGG is about the same size as Ward, but with granite chin. He can walk thru a lot to land. He would go all out against Froch or Ward and maybe surprise us all

Then Canelo / Cotto are above Manny's level of drawing power by this logic ?:think

Lets not get overboard , Manny is Manny , but Froch is up there for sure but only for a UK fight ,if he fights in the UK he can sell wembly for any fight really , they wont pack the Dallas cowobys stadium if they go there for example , while Manny will sellout everywhere he goes.

We all seem very obsessed with bombs in this fight. Froch showed he can box a bit against Groves and I think he would take that approach against GGG as trying to out war him isn't a smart gameplan. That being said, people are very quick to forget GGG can box as well. I'd back GGG but I'd like to see him fight at SMW first to see how he holds up at that weight. He might be an even harder hitter he might be a complete flop .
