Lee without a doubt would fight GGG but Quillen Cotto or Canelo won't. The point is beating Lee and taking his belt won't really improve GGG's position what good is that? He'd be much better off fighting Froch or Ward both of which would be low risk high reward fights. If he loses so what? He can move back down then guys like Canelo or Cotto would be more likely to fight him.

    Fair enough.

I guess my "romantic ideals about boxing", where GGG is linear middleweight champ before fighting those higher weight guys, is clouding my thinking......

We will see. The fight that I think would be the easiest to make would be either Froch or Ward. If I had my choice I'd like to see him fight Froch over Ward.

Cotto-GGG or GGG-Canelo isn't going to be possible before 2016 either. You're putting all your faith in Cotto not fighting Canelo in the fall and Cotto caring about being stripped.

There's nothing but silence because it's all talk from GGGs camp(not GGG) Ward got in touch with GGG about a fight and was told that GGG wants to clean up 160 first. You have to stop listening to Abel he is just hyping his fighter.

GGG got in touch with Froch while he was MANDATED to fight Groves twice. Now that GGG is open Froch is MANDATED to fight Ward. Froch almost had a fight with Chaves but got hurt so Chaves is fighting Fonfara instead. Timing hasn't been good but they can fight after the Ward-Froch fight seeing as how Froch most likely won't have a belt .
Or Froch will fight Chaves then GGG.

There hasn't been nothing but silence from Chaves he is signed to fight Fonfara then he says he is fighting Froch then GGG.

I saw what you out in another thread about fights at 168 being tied up ATM good assessment. The Ward being out drawn by a chic is funny also.

Close but not 100%. When Ward was talking, he was tied up in litigation. When K2 got a hold of Hearn the one time after Groves 1 it was before the rematch was mandated. They talked again after, Hearn took it to HBO who said it was not a PPV in USA, thats why it never went anywhere. This is all from Hearn not Abel.

Both camps were interested, but Froch understandably wanted PPV/Vegas if he could get it. In this article Froch/Hearn say they think GGG might be PPV by late this year/next which is why they are interested.

Yeah just decided to search it instead. But there was nothing in that article that said Ward reached out to them about a fight. He kept saying they keep using my name, but only indirectly by saying "anyone from 154-168." Only time people brought up his name was when reporters or whoever asked about him. The way I've seen it, Ward has used Golovkin's name more than GGG (or rather his team) have used his. And back to the beginning, why would he go and reach out to them about a fight when he was unable to fight? Doesn't make sense. They've obviously said would go up or down for a PPV fight, which Andre Ward-as much as I respect the guy talent wise-is not. Typed more than I initially wanted so I'm going to stop here, even though I have more to say.

Thankyou I could not remember all the details. I was trying to make a point about a lot of boxing being in the details ( which you helped provide) and less about boxers ducking each other. I don't think Froch is scared to fight anyone and neither is Ward at their weight or lower and get sick of the whole they are ducking whoever talk.

    You must of missed it.

“But it’s that people around him that like to talk and have the smoke and mirrors. That’s the stuff that with me, I’m cut and dry. My thing is if there’s something there and we’re going to fight then let’s fight and if not, just be honest with the fans. And they clarified that so I’m good. I’m okay now, I’m moving on. He said he’s cleaning out 160 so I wish him nothing but the best”.
