76 - 75 is doing Groves a disservice, but if we're dealing in facts, he'd have lost the 9th round, it could even have been a 10 - 8 had Foster not interrupted. And he may have lost the next 3 considering how he was tiring fast, and Froch was starting to turn the tide.

For all the talk of Groves schooling Froch, out punching him, out jabbing him, about to get the KO, etc etc etc based on the first 7 or 8 round. Its just as easy to make a case for Froch winning based on the 9th round, and two of the scorecards.

If frock tries to rush groves he will be countered as he comes in. Frochs footwork and defence is not good enough for that strategy against groves. Hence why it won't happen. Problem for Frochs is groves is good on the backfoot and can play that game with Froch, he be countered and possibly stopped if Froch tried that strategy.

As much as Froch probably can't do much to improve his speed dramtically, Groves can't do too much to improve his stamina. He can do all the endurance work he wants but once he starts taking shots he gets sapped. Maybe he can calm down and take it slower early on but that is when he had most of his success last time.

Froch has taken a totally different attitude to the build up of this fight, com paired,to the first fight build up,and I think the only thing that will defeat him on the night is his punch resistance due to his advancing years, if he has still got it Groves is in for a very hard fight particular in the later rounds......:bbb

It's man vs boy, regardless of who wins the mind games or how much stamina training Macaulay Culkin does.

If that's true, there is no way he can lose. Extra stamina plus a change in strategy to pace himself a bit better will see him through. He already has the speed advantage and has good power.

his stamina can be optimised, but not necessarily improved to the level needed, and will be affected by making weight, so it remains to be seen if he can lose. bear in mind froch's conditioning is all the way up there, and he can force the pace if need be.

I think alot of this may be down to Adam Booth.

Look at David Haye he always had stamina problems when making Cruiserweight.

So we should expect to see Usain Bolt running marathons later in his career ?

Everybody has a limit, groves has known his since day one, do you think he hasn't tried to maximise what he has before now ?

Let me know what you'd like to know about cardio and endurance training, i'm almost 50 years of age and have been cycling and running at a decent level since my mid teens, i also boxed for several years until my tackle and liking for wine and women got the better of me for a while.

You can train all you like but as others have said it can only be improved so much. I can't see how he can improve it enough to make a difference. Similar to froch with his speed. He can do things that may help but most of it he will have already done for years. Things like speed and stamina are in the genes. Froch has better stamina groves has better speed. We will see on the night who takes better advantage of the others weakness.

he ain't renowned for his stamina at heavy, either. it's more to do with body type. bolt is set up for speed, farah stamina. booth appears to favour the former.
