he was constantly on the move against froch, he stated throughout that mobility is a big part of his gameplan as froch struggles with it. plus of course froch doesn't go for breathers against the ropes like degale. those stating it's punch resistance not stamina, i don't recall gg shipping much damage in the 2nd round v froch, i do remember his chest heaving at the end of it.
Thanks for the adult reply, its a very rare thing in here these days. You make some reasonable and valid points, however my point about Groves stamina, is that i don't think being passive and trying to box smart will win him the fight. Groves is a decent fighter, but he's not on Wards level, and even Ward had to set a high tempo in order to keep Froch on the back foot. Ward is also a very big, very strong SMW, and a lot of his success was due to his strength on the inside, Groves looked like a fish out of water every time he lost distance and/or had his back to the ropes. Groves will have to set a high tempo, and land sharp accurate punches for the duration, and this is where his problems will begin, because in order to press the action he'll tire, and i believe we'll see a similar pattern to the first fight. I've highlighted Groves Immaturity many times, and predicted it would be his undoing in the first fight. Arguing with people on Twitter, and arranging to meet faceless idiots because of their comments isn't the behaviour of a professional athlete with a promising career in front of him. He's hiding some mental frailties, which is why he's trying to play games with Froch and and get under his skin. It isn't a clever ploy to disarm his opponent, its something that feeds Groves ego and makes him feel more comfortable about the task ahead. Degale was disgusting in the build up to his fight with Groves, and Groves was obviously bothered by the insults, and is trying to play the same game with Froch. It was also interesting to see Groves body language after the fight, he wasn't loudl and aggressive, he looked and acted like a chastised child, quite pathetic in fact when you consider his persona prior to the fight. To answer your last point, yes stamina can be improved, but as individuals we all have limits, regardless of training regimes, diets, etc etc. Once somebody reaches their endurance limit, that level of fitness will simply plateau. No amount of training will improve fitness/endurance once that persons physical ceiling has been reached. That is why some people are sprinters, and others are marathon runners. Groves is clearly a sprinter, big, strong, fast hands, fast feet, one punch KO power, Froch is clearly a marathon runner, naturally smaller at the weight, slower hands, slower feet, a cumulative KO puncher. It will be interesting to see how each fighter tackles this fight, Froch may be a one trick pony, but he can still make subtle changes that will help. Im not sure how Groves will approach the fight, maybe he will try and fight on the back foot as he did against Degale, but lets not forget, Degale is no Froch. I don't think the fight will have the fireworks of the first fight, but i'm still really looking forward to it. May the best man win. :good
50 year old artya HAHAHAHA artytime You coulda fooled me The way you go on about Froch I would have swore you were a screaming 13 year old girl at 1D concert Take a day off you boring old fart
I thought you had me on ignore ? Another one of your fairy tales. Screaming like a little girl ? shall i remind you of some of the tantrums you posted on here ? :| ya fcukin bampot.
People said Froch was gonna 'Bute' him early last time, you'd think they would have learned from that. It's unlikely to happen, Groves is too quick, sharp and dangerous early on. I also think Groves supposed stamina issues are being blown out of proportion, his stamina isn't as good as Froch's but it doesn't seem all that bad to me and I don't think it necessarily needs to be all that great anyway. For me, Groves is the slight favourite in this fight. Reasons being he was out-boxing Carl and winning the first fight and I think he will have benefited more from the experience of the first fight. I think Groves has less adjustments to make in order to win and I think Carl has the harder task ahead of him dealing with Groves speed, power and movement. Still question marks about Groves though. Is his punch resistance, stamina, concentration level, discipline and intelligence in the ring good enough over the full 12 rounds at the top level? It's still a close fight and an interesting contrast in styles, physical attributes, experience etc.
Groves will either beat Carl like he did with Degale or just go at him from the bell, IMO. I see Groves either getting a UD or a really early stoppage. 5 Rounds, tops.
