Froch would have beaten Golovkin

Froch isn't a big SMW, I'm sure Jacobs weighed more in the ring. So the size wouldn't be a problem for Golovkin.
J Taylor doesn't hit harder than Golovkin, so it's definitely possible Golovkin could hurt/drop Froch with a clean hit, but according to Murray, Groves hits a bit harder with the RH.
Both have great chins, engines, determination. Froch has more reach. Golovkin has somewhat better skill but Froch definitely has skill too when he wants to box smart.

I don't think anyone can make a confident prediction with this one, it also depends on what age you're talking about. It's probably going to points and it might end up being hard to score due to the amount of action from both.

He does! His Abraham GGG comparison is spot on. When i watch them fight i sometimes get confused who im watching they are so similar. The guy is just one of those weird people who hates eastern european fighters for some odd reason.

 

Froch would walk through GGG's punches with more ease than Canelo did and put a Bute style beating on him!! Golovkin likes to get in to a tear up at some point in most of his fights and against Froch that only ends one way!! Froch by K.O said it then still say it now!!

 

Said before and will say again always thought Froch would have beaten him.
The reach difference is massive and if there is a guy who had the chin to stand up to GGG it was Froch. Similar kind of pros and cons both had power (GGG more so but at a lesser weight), punishing jabs. Good stamina although I think Froch still had his engine at the end and great chins although Froch could be dropped.
Don't get me wrong it would be a fire fight but Froch was strong enough and tough enough to weather a GGG storm and he had his own advantages to bring into play as well plus he would be the bigger man. GGG struggled with Jacobs who was heavier (a good deal so on fight night and a different style) BUT I think the size difference would play a part and Froch could nick a close one on the cards

 

I think once someone starts referring to the attributes of great fighters as ‘mythical’ and makes statements such as ‘only someone without a brain couldn’t see’ blah blah, they lose the argument and it becomes obvious it’s agenda driven rather than a genuine debate.

Both were/are brilliant fighters. As is Canelo. Most great fighters have a resume where 1 or 2 victories/defeats have been questionable. Facts are, they’re called greats because they were there or there abouts throughout their careers.

 

I can't think of anything that Froch did better than Golovkin. Apart from being a d*ckhead of course.

Golovkin would UD Froch and break him up in the process.

 

GGG all day long, even if Froch boxes well there will be knockdowns that keeps it out of reach. Prime GGG would put a prime Froch down at least twice.

 

At least twice? Thats a big assumption to make for a guy who never fought , let alone beat a SMW in his professional career.
When you have a fight between a proven two-time world champion and a guy who is 0-0-0 at the weight , its only rationale to pick the proven guy , otherwise its just speculation based on bias.

Do you think Jacobs could move up and have success against Froch as well? I see Froch blowing Jacobs away.

Against GGG , Froch would only need to do one round better than Jacobs to get the win. And not get dropped which i believe would be a certainty since speed is what put Froch down against Groves and Taylor. Golovkin is not fast and would not catch Froch with anything he doesn't see coming.

The style of Golovkin is to cover up and wait his turn to attack, he rarely ever trades punches. Groves did cos he was much faster than both Froch and Golovkin.

A large 5 inch reach advantage to Froch means its unkown if GGG could even have any success with his jab. Kessler was badly out jabbed in the rematch and he specializes in the 1-2 / jab + right hand.
A likely scenario is Golovkin finds it very hard to open up with his own offence when being hit by an endless attack from a bigger and longer guy who never tires and never slows down.

Perhaps if GGG had taken the Callum Smith fight when Eddie offered it we'd have a clearer picture , but he didn't seem to interested so its only reasonable to believe that Foch would beat GGG by points or even by late stoppage.

 

I remember froch vs ggg was talked about before froch retired and people or promoters said that it wasn’t a big enough fight to have in America because neither fighter was big enough so the money just wasn’t there????


Anyway a prime froch beats a prime ggg imo, had it been the back end of frochs career a much closer fight I’d of thought

 

It really isn't. I just like whoever is good. Couldn't give 2 shits where they are from. Some fans, like yourself, get hung up on it and take fans comments ridiculously out of context and say things like 'waking over them'. It's weird. Just appreciate good boxers whilst you can as they have a very short peak.

 

No chance, Froch had a world class jab, had great control of distance and a 6 inch reach advantage over Golovkin.
