Just looked at the froch - pascal fight and what a fight it was.. i olso read the threds were a lot of people thing he is the next big thing..

The way i see it he would have a lot of trubel with figthers who not get in to a brawl with him but box him on the outside.. with figthers i mean top boxers Bute Tayler Kessler Inkin and more..

How do you guys think about that..

My evaluation of Froch is the same as before the fight.
He's not at the top level. When he faces a top guy like Kessler, Taylor, Bute and even Andrade, he won't make it. Against the first three, he will eat leather all night long, hitting air, being out of balance. At the end, he will desesperetely try to hit the big one as it's his only chance. And eat more leather. His chin won't be enough. Against Pascal, who is still young and not as his peak, all was in his favor. Pascal is smaller (height and reach), doesn't have a good defense. And was not experienced enough. Against one of the top 5, it will be a different game. He wants Bute? Well, if Taylor-Bute doesn't work, go for it. It would be a lot easier than Andrade for Bute.

from my post on the other thread....

fotch for me showed a lot of flaws for a top smw, his obvious:
    1. his low hands which pascal exploited, bigger punchers have a field day. fast boxers with fast jabs really have a lot of sucess here (carl stop calling out joe u dnt have a prayer with joe, wait until he retires and go after kessler)

    2. he has static footwork, his power in his shots come from him setting up his feet for a power shot. again a person with good movement unsettle him and not allow him to load up. (i.e hopkins movement against pavlik)

    3. carl is happy to take a shot, which surprised me he didn't want to cover up. fair enough he has a good chin but punches catch up with you as u get older and the fights move into the later rounds.

    4. carl does show he has the ring intelligence of say hopkins, calzaghe. Pascal was landing the shots quiet frequently and i question his mindset as his trainers for the first 4 rounds were telling him to change.

    5. over reliance on his power is a mistake at a high level against the top top fighters, as the saying goes... if a puncher hasn't got anything to hit (opponent is clever to have speed/movement) what else can he do??

    6. he seemed to be blowing hard after 7 rounds fair enough it was a high pace, but the pressure a fighter like calzaghe puts on frotch have no chance.
