This fight will tell us if Bute is as fast or slick as Ward; also a southpaw keeping his lead hand down and throwing uppercuts to the body might just be more awkward then what Froch's got.
Pressure is the key for Froch, he'd gave Ward problems when he pushed forward. And i don't think Bute is fast as Ward, but he is way faster than Froch and that could determine the outcome
More awkward than Froch? :admin:admin Along with Vitali Klitschko, Froch is the must awkward boxers in top level boxing. Bute is not awkward, but he has good skill all round
And yes Froch weird style will probably give Bute some problems but he should be able to adjust and dominate after three or four rounds.
Froch and V.Klitschko are more awkward in terms of looking weird when boxing, but I would bet that a boxer feels more in unknown territory against Bute. A slick and tall romanian counter-punching southpaw, who love to set traps with his hands down and KO guys with uppercuts to the body. Froch's got to get to Bute's chin and maintain a high work rate. I believe Bute will fight at 175 sooner than later. At 168, Bute's chin and stamina are suspect to me. He looked too much dehydrated in his last weight in. Froch's got a 40% chance to win this fight, in my opinion.
You have to be slick to fight out of a Philly Shell so yeah, I think Bute is more slick than Ward. There is nothing slick about hugging people or head butting them.
What I saw live at the 2 last weight ins was a very fresh Bute, looking better than 2 years ago. I think the dehydration process works well for him. He can stay for a couple of more fights. I'm personnally not worried about his stamina but I think Froch will try to repeat the end of the Andrade 1 fight. The only problem is every other opponent has tried to do the same but failed at it.
all wrong. froch is defo better coming forward applying pressure and making his opponents not be able to use there tools under such pressure or use them to the best of there ability. Bute throw's single punches on the back foot and combo's when coming forward. Bute's easier on the back foot just make sure you block the counter or don't fall for the very so obvious trap were he puts his chin in range then use's his height and leans back and makes you miss then fires a counter punch. Those basic moves are not good enough at the top level in my opinion and even froch who i see as one of the less smarter fighters at SMW will not fall for that. froch has made it close with all the top SMW except ward but he still managed to keep active and throw punches and make it competitive and still applied more pressure on at the end instead of being tired from the body shots. Froch's pretty dangerous in the end rounds. Ask taylor. you don't know what slick is and bute doesn't do the philly shell defense you idiot
Bute handled Johnson' jab who technically is a piece of art, it rarely landed. Froch jab can't be much better than Johnson's he has a bigger reach a little more of a pop but it is also a little slower. I think Lucian can handle it. If he follows that jab who will often miss with something efficient that might cause a little more problems. Where have you been, long time no see.
There are key factors going into this one fight that needs to be respected: Butes first fight away from home, first fight in enemy territory. Froch always finds a way to be competetive (against Kessler and Ward, even whilst outboxed by Ward, he stuck in there and gave Ward a physical, rough fight) Froch has a jab and a very weird right hand that is hard to deal with (Ward did so by smothering Froch's work on the inside, Bute doesn't have an inside game) Froch is more durable and has a better punch resistence, which can prove fairly important with home advantage, should he start dealing with Bute in a physical manner that he did to Dirrell.
