Carl's Froch Bow And Arrow Punch
It’s a mistake made by fighters who have poor punching technique.
When you throw a lead jab using proper punching technique, your rear hand should be close to your chin ready to block a punch. At no time should your chin be in a vulnerable, exposed position.
It is a mistake to allow the rear hand to drift down or back so much that you can't bring it in the corect position in time to defend yourself. This leaves your chin and your body open to punches, at the time when you’re most vulnerable.
This type of jab leaves you open to counter punch techniques.

This is a perfect example of Froch using the Bow And Arrow Punch:

If Froch uses the so-called bow and arrow punch, which means he pulls his right hand back when he jabs, Bute should be able to make him miss using footwork and upper-body shifting and counter punch him using a left hook or even a left uppercut to the body or chin thinking that Lucian is good at judging distance and timing.
Bute study's his opponents angles and punching patern in the first 2-3 rounds , It's untikable that he'll miss something as big as this.He would probably know even before entering the ring and will only be learning the reach speed and angle of Froch's punches in those rounds.
Carl's Froch Bow And Arrow Punch might help him win the jab's battle but could also let him open against a Knockout punch.

Froch getting hit by a body punch(looks like it's hurting pretty bad):

Bute can execute that kind of punch faster and from a bigger distance:

    Interesting thread.
You are correct, Froch has alot of bad habits and the one you note is one that I have seen before.
Still even with all of Frochs limitations he has remained very hard to beat.
Bute may be able to capitalise on Frochs mistakes but I wouldnt bet on it. Bute hasnt faced a fighter as strong willed as Froch and a puncher who can punch as hard and snappy when he wants to. Andrade is more limited than Froch and he was lucky not to be given a KO over Bute.

It is still hard to judge Bute as he hasnt yet fought any of the top SMWs. So many fighters look amazing until they step up.

I wouldnt be able to pick a winner in a Bute vs Froch fight. 2 fighters who I enjoy watching

Sure, but that is easier said than done against someone that hits as hard as Froch.

Froch has a lot of bad habits and is a flawed fighter but that's what makes him so great and exciting to watch. You know this going in yet he continues to win and prove the haters wrong. Carl Froch is GOD.

  5. if direll couldnt counter his "bow and arrow punch" can bute wont and imo froches constanst akwardness is put makes him effective

Check the vid below. It shows the textbook example on how to beat a southpaw. You simply lead with the right. The southpaw, in the red, clearly has no clue what to do and rest assured, he ends this contest KTFO:

Bute is a much much much smarter and more tactical fighter than Dirrell.

He judges the distance well so he isnt all that easy to counter.

Its an accident waiting to happen though, was sure AA would catch him

I think Froch is best for Bute style-wise but I don't know If he'll want to Fight Kessler or Pascal first leaving Bute waiting for his biggest fight 1 more year. I don't really like that possibility.Ward has already stated that the winner of super six should fight Bute. I think with a good plan Ward is a big favorite to win a UD against Froch.

Nah. It's not that much of a contest. The fighter in blue just keeps on slamming that right hand onto the unprotected chin of the novice in the red.

Froch does a lot of things not by the book but he still does well against quality opponents.
I'd pick Bute over Froch but I'm not overly confident. Froch would be Bute toughest test so far.

Come on! Froch fighting Dirrel was a COMPLETELY different Froch. Dirrel is fast and slick. Froch had to take some "chances" to keep touching him with leather. If a fighter moves less or engages Froch is a million times more conservative.

Froch can Box OR Brawl. The only time the man is drawn into brawling is with Olympic level Pure Boxers. Why? Because their footwork is better than 80% of the guys out there today.

Froch won't reach for Bute. He will be right there. Eating leather all night.
