Well I've never watched the entire filmed careers of the fighters you listed I'm not gonna lie, I'm 23 so don't have an extensive back history of knowledge to go on either. I won't be able to make any case for my rankings against yours because obviously you know more than I do. My post is more related to post war fighters than the entire history of British boxing if that makes it any less baffling. I'm happy to admit there are hundreds of posters more knowledgable than me on the history of British boxing, If it makes me a noob then I guess I'm a noob for the time being haha.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to put Froch in britains top ten all time fighters. Top3 no, top5 no but fringe top ten, hell yeah. He's got to be one of boxings greatest over achievers given his somewhat limited speed, technique and propensity to get hit.

It's obvious he doubts himself sometimes and constantly needs reassurance and yet still manages to stay the course for a win, often after shipping a massive amount of punishment! Truly one hard, tough mother effer!

There is loads more knowldgable than me as well. Regularly Read through the historic section, thats how I picked up decent knowledge, watch older fighters like Ezzard Charles and Jose Napoles, Duran, Leonard, Benitez, McCallum, Kalambay etc on youtube. Those guy's will shock you in how skilled they were. If you think Froch is tough watch Henry Armstrong, Pancho Villa. Carmen Basillo, Duran, Kid Lewis, Ken Buchanan, Benny Lynch, Lamotta, battling Neson, etc, or read up on Harry Greb.

Post war Froch is behind Lennox Lewis, Ken Bachanan and maybe Joe Calzaghe. He only beat George groves ffs, the way people are going on you would think he'd just ko'd Ward. To be a great you have to beat truly great fighters. Lewis and Ken did this, Froch has not, and Calzaghe beat greats past their best.
Froch is aruably a top 3 to 5 post war great British fighter and a top 20 ATG brit. There is no shame in that at all if you know the depth of the sport. It's ancient.

Yeah the big win I meant was something along the lines of ward, probably just a knee jerk reaction anyway.

Il definitely start watching the older fights hopefully youtube have most of them :good

imo he isn't underrated or disrespected AS A FIGHTER. As a person he is a cnut. These are two separate attributes and as such I respect Carl as a FIGHTER, he is one of Britain's ATGs. But as a PERSON he is a complete insecure knob but me saying that does not detract one ounce from the fact that he is a great FIGHTER.

I wish people would stop confusing this.
