Aside from the 12th round against Taylor he hasn't really knocked anyone out or stopped them. The 5th round against Kessler where he hurt Kessler badly from a class straight right was the only time since the Taylor fight that he has hurt a guy. My opinion i don't think he has neccesarily come up against guys who have better chins than the ones he fought earlier in his career so i think Froch's punching power is real and would put anyone away. Simply a case of the better the oppositon the harder they are to catch. Froch catches Ward with the punches that knocked out Magee and Tatevosyan and its goodnight.

also many of them have been able to avoid some of his winged from the ankles uppercuts. he couldve stopped AA(ok, accumulation of punches, not 1 shot) but mccracken made him stick to the plan

Better chins, better fighters. Froch's power is not exceptional at world level, he's an accumulation puncher now for the most part. I don't see him sparking anyone out at this level. Plus he's pretty slow handed, tough to knock guys out when they see most of these shots.

He's ability to take a devastating punch outweighs his ability to throw one.

I hope its just bravado from Froch when he says he will walk through Ward's punches, surely he can't believe this. True, Ward isn't a big puncher but there is enough snap in them to get your respect. Definetely ain't writing Froch off though in this one.

It's very respectable, but not devastating.

Froch has solid power, nothing more. He is more of an accumulation puncher at world level.

When the genuine top guys face off against each other? KO's are a rarity.

A valuable lesson in life for the younger boxing fan reading this post!

When he hits his opponents I can see they feel it. They see the shots coming but even if they land on gloves - they hurt.

He also hasn't got the fastest hands, when his opponent sees them coming they can deal with it (roll/block/palm/move etc). Its the punches you don't see coming which hurt and shock a lot more.

I agree entirely that punches you don't see hurt more however, if you get hit with a hard combo, gloves up or not it takes something from you.
