First we saw him retire with a lucrative fight with GGG right in front of him. He didn't want it. "I don't need it" he said. He said he's retiring on top of 2 massive wins over "top contender and future world champion George Groves". Mkkkay.

Well lookie now, Groves is now 3-3 in his last 6 fights. Froch's resume just looks a tad weaker than it already did.

Froch doesn't care. He knows he will always be behind Calzaghe and he has no hope of catching up to him.

Like Froch cares, hell if he was watching he probably enjoyed it, he clearly doesn't like Groves. The loss to Jack showed exactly the same flaws from Groves as before.

I predicted Groves would KO Jack but I said that he had to do it early, if it was taken late we could see Groves tire and get KO'ed. He was almost stopped just early on, once again showing us that weak chin and he once again tired late.

So while the loss is a surprise the manner of the loss isn't. Groves needs to improve his endurance and defence if he is to ever take it to the next level. He has clear flaws and anyone who doesn't get KO'ed early can punish him in the 2nd half of the fight.

    Oh STFU Froch groupie!

Groves didn't look ruined at all. He was the same fighter as always - simply got outboxed.

For the record, no, I don't think Jack could have beaten Froch.

I think a possible move up in weight, new trainer and half a dozen confidence builders may help Groves. Mind you I can't see him beating Kovalev or Stevenson.

He definitely needs to change something because he's a deeply flawed fighter at the moment. His stamina and ability to fight for a full 12 rounds is an issue. He's only gone 12 rounds once before this fight and that was against DeGale another fighter who can't fight for a full 12 rounds. What is it with British super middles at the moment they have the gas tank of a Kia Rio.

If making the 168lbs limit is the issue then moving up would make sense, though I agree Kovalev and Stevenson would smash him to bits. If it's not making the weight he needs to alter his training methods because he has no stamina at the moment and everyone knows this now and everyone will look to take him late in a fight and in that scenario more losses are inevitable.

Froch is not a HOF'er by any means. He lost to Dirrell. He lost to prime Kessler. He was dominated by Ward.

In a prefight interview you could see how Froch was rooting for Groves to win -- because that in turn would elevate his wins over Groves. Opposite has happened. Froch has to realize while he cashed in on lucrative paydays if we look at his record he simply wasted the twilight of his career dealing with a Euro level contender like Groves.

I would disagree mate, even though I know where you are coming from. 1st Groves fight, Froch underestimated a dangerous opponent and he nearly paid the price. That fight left huge questions marks over Carl, which he answered under the best circumstances possible, brilliant ko victory at Wembley. Froch is an old fighter who was past his peak, yet after the Groves fights he enhanced his reputation even more. There are few and far between in boxing who had as many tough opponents as Froch did.

Funny how people jump on Carl claiming he beat a past prime Kessler yet completely overlook he was way past prime against groves and knocked him silly
