£10 for an online fight is a bit steep.

 

Team Froch on the website said it will be of good quality and showing all the undercards, also it will be showtimes broadcast.

 

Until they start accepting money this can be taken as a bargaining tool in the tv negotiations to try and show that they don't feel cornered into accepting a low offer. Froch''s web people still posted this on the forum today:

"If TV come up with the goods then it will be shown !
But, if they dont we need a back up and this is it.
Aparently the stream quality will be mint and will basically be the showtime event in full.
Undercards and everything."

Still find it inconceivable that this won't be shown as it will undercut the future marketability of Froch bouts from the tv angle if he does win as his future home bouts will surely be shown. Can't believe that a reduced fee won't be agreed as an internet feed in the early hours of the morning just doesn't stack up for anyone

This has become a disaster for Froch. He is coming across as a money grabbing *****, be that right or wrong. There is obviously a reason why no UK TV company is picking this up and I would venture that it is all to do with cash.(surprise). Surely it makes more commercial sense for Froch to have the fight shown on UK TV for a lesser fee and to boost his marketability, than to go down the internet route...where most fight fans can find a cheaper alternative. Plus it would give some airtime to some up and coming talent to display their skills to a wider audience.
But what do I know?

Its not looking good for TV, who knows if Setanta (most likely) will come in at the last minute and snap this up, but now the stream has been put up, it isn't looking too good for TV.
One point I wanted to check was how is this going to be shown in bars and pubs??? On someones laptop in't corner????silly...
