Really competitive between 135 and 147. I never felt we saw Oscar at his best at either lightweight or light-welterweight because the opposition he faced was not that strong - and those were arguably his best weights. He finally met some really live opposition at 147 in Whitaker, Quartey, Trinidad and Mosley and split those fights 2-2. I'd give Duran the edge at any weight between 135-147 but I think DLH would definitely be competitive. Above 147, it's anyone's guess. Depends on which version of Duran turns up. If Kirkland Laing could beat Duran then Oscar could. But if he met the Duran who fought Davey Moore...
With the exception of the Pacquaio fight, Oscar has been competitive in every single fight he's ever been in. I think at their respective bests Duran was a bit better but assessing this from a h2h match up, I'd wager that the higher up it goes the more it favors Oscar. If I had to pick 1 weight it would be 160. Oscar beats him at 160.
Yeah but Oscar is better than anyone Duran fought at lightweight. He was not at lightweight long, but he was good and turned out great than they were.
