From 1974 onwards, Would Ali Have Lost To Prime Holmes?

    Any time after the thrilla, prime Holmes takes it.

    I don't know, the Thrilla Ali (as courageous and still really effective as he certainly was) doesn't seem the level of the Holmes who stopped Shavers II imo.

    I think the Zaire Ali would have outfoxed Larry for a majority decision, after that I think Holmes has his number.

    I think tthe Zaire version of Ali would have beaten Holmes, now the post Manila version loses.

    In your view do you think Holmes was ready for prime time in 1975? Wouldn't he be a shade green? Ali was still potent before Manila. His hands weren't totally shot. He was punching with bad intentions from the opening bell.
    Ali would have been more experienced, stronger than a young Larry, equal handspeed.

    Oh OK.
    Well to me it's still Ali. Post Frazier 3 I don't think he was ever a great fighter after that. Ali said once "me and Joe went to Manila as Champions and we returned as old men."
