Just to add. It would be a bigger upset than Buster over Tyson just for the fact that in retrospect, Douglas had all the physical and style advantage over Mike. This is the exact opposite.

If Pac beats Floyd, he's inside 15-20 (he's inside 25 right now).

If Floyd beats Pac, he's inside 20-25 (he's inside 30 right now).

 

If he beat both, Floyd at 147 (0.45) and Sergio at 154 (0.2), He would definitely have to get consideration for an alltime top 10 spot.


But with a 9 % probability, that's not too likely.

I think he would. I think it will be near on impossible for any boxer in the future to be ranked in the top 10 of all time. But will see, you can only ever say someone is an ATG about 40-50 years after they retire. I guess everyone will be saying like they do today about black and white fighters schooling all those who fought in colour in one round.

I think its impossible for a fighter today to crack the top 10,no because there not good enough,fans just won't allow it,with that said I think he definately is top 15 with a win over Floyd.

Manny would be the overwhelming underdog and past prime Floyd would be easily the best fighter he has ever faced and would also easily be the guy he'd be given the lowest chance of beating. Better than past prime Morales and past prime Barerra...also better than drained DLH or pprime Cotto at a catchweight......

Mayweather is a product of a lot of hype. Great fighter, yes, but he isn't as good as he, his record or his fans make out. This is a guy who clearly lost to Castillo. He's special but I'm not sure if he is better at this stage of his career than prime Barrera was when he fought Pacquiao the first time.

Barrera was third P4P but he was genuinely a great fighter, who Pacquiao walked through. If Pacquiao beat Mayweather, it would go down as his defining win but I'm not sure whether it'd be his best.

still gotta think that a Floyd win puts him in the top 15-20 and a Pac win would put him in the 10-15 range. Neither would crack the top 10 but the winner would be getting close. I think Pac could loose and still be ranked higher than Mayweather on a ATG list, the same can't be said about Mayweather loosing. But if Mayweather beats Pac and then Martinez at 160 I'd give him his top 10 ranking.

If Pac beats Floyd, he is inside top 5 and probably get higher when he retires, espdcialyl when he dies and boxing misses him. That has always been the it is.

When Marciano retired, very few ranked him inside top 10,k given his level of opposition. When he died in 1969, many started placing him inside top 10. Now, there is a growing number of boxing fans who watched his yuotube clips and rank him as #1 based on the fact that he retired as champ and undefeated.
