    unfortunately it does have to be. boxing is a sport of the poor for the most part - a lot of people who make it did so because it's all they were good at, and that holds true even after they have passed their best.

    remember there isn't one federation governing and looking after fighters, it's just a bunch of bloodsuckers selling their fights, promoting them and feeding off the profits.

    at the end of the day all they have left is boxing

    Exactly. If you had a union and adequate pension system for fighters, you would see much less of this. That's why JAB is so necessary!
