seing as there is a bunch of different nationalities here on esb, i was wondering about the difference, from country to country, when it comes to the first fight..

ill start by saying im danish, and in my country its normal, to have aprox 4-5 months of training, before getting a fight. But before you get a real fight, you have to do a diploma-fight, where you show your technique. Basically a fight, which is somewhat in between sparring and a real fight, where you are judged on your technique, how you throw punches, your footwork etc.

so as im prepraring for this, and entering the ring on saturday, i was wondering, how its done in other countries..

Do you get thrown straight into the wolwes..?

how much time before you get a fight.. and so on..

i think its more the gym than the country

i had about 2 months training before a trainer wanted me to start fighting but i had to wait about 8 months in the end

i was training for 8 months too before i boxed.some of my mates got fights quicker than that.some boxing clubs don't let you box for about 2 years.
first of all you have pass a medical to get a medical card, which looked(1977) like a bank book.
i'd actually turned up at a few shows on spec hoping to get a fight before i got my chance.

damn,i couldn't wait 2 years to fight, saying that theres a guy at my gym whos been at it a few years and is still waiting.
i waited 6 months before i first fought, some of the younger lads have "skills bouts" which i think are the same as those diploma fights, kinda like a sparring session.
i think it depends on the person, you're ready when you're ready.
