From experience, how long does it take to get Sky installed?

I know you can get the channels added on rather quick but how about installed for the first time in a new property?

I don't want to miss any big fights if I can help it.

you mean the actual time it takes to physically install the dish, set up the box etc? If so then it took about an hour to do the lot! they just drilled a couple of holes through the wall to get the cables through, stuck the dish under my window, hooked up the box to the telly etc.

But yeah the entire process could take a week. Have sign up, book the installation guys, maybe a week? or less. Just give them a call and see when they can fit you in for the installation.

Sky +...record every programme you want to watch....go make a cup of tea, nip to the toilet then get comfy...start watching the programme 10 mins late....watch the programme then fast forward through the adverts and the programme finishes with seconds of when it would have in the first place. :hey:tired:good

I'd allow 2-3 weeks to be honest.

I was that way...it has plus and minus parts but the deal I went for was cheaper for me at that time....right now though I do feel I would like to swap a few of my deals but not sure if I can.

I've had it for a few years and I can only remember it going down once when they were doing some maintenance.

    Allow 2 weeks for installation.

Be very careful when selecting the packages. When i ordered it initially, i went for a minimal package - no movies or sports. I was going to get Sky Sports when i was a bit better fixed financially, but they offered me movies and sports for FREE for 3 months. However, day of installation, the missus decided she wanted the music pack instead of one of the others we had, forget which. So i phoned Sky and they said they'd switch it, no bother.

Problems started when i got my first bill for around £50, and they'd charged me for movies and sports - every channel on each. When i questionned it, they said as i'd changed one of the packages, my original deal was void. After a dozen calls to their abysmal customer service team did nothing, it took a letter to James Murdoch's office (Sky MD), to resolve the issue. I got a 2 month refund and a big apology.
