I'd outright favor Monzon and Jones. I'd side with Hopkins in a close one and McCallum would make things very interesting against peak Hagler. Prime Leonard moving up to face prime Hagler is an intriguing one. He beats everyone else if at his best.

Rodrigo Valdez springs to mind as someone who might give it a good go ?
Ronnie Harris may cause problems with his style for Marvin ?
If he Didnt Cut...and was in top form Kevin Finnegan would be competitive
    - he more than proved that in their first encounter.

Valdez would come close, and give Marvin a better battle than Mugabi, for one, as he was a much better fighter, but I think Marv would win the decision.

In his prime, I would give Briscoe a shot (Hagler fought a VERY shot Briscoe. In 1970-74, Baaaaad Bennie was a whole different animal than 78, after Vito and many beat him and his power was gone) and Valdez. Also, Griffith on a good night. Jones of course would be trouble. Hopkins loses or claims injury on way to getting ko'd. Toney gets overwelmed, me thinks.

Hagler was passed his peak vs. Hearns and would be ko'd by RJJ if he fought that way. Anyway, that was not Hagler's style. His real peak was against Sibson. THAT is his style. He only became a slow toe-toe guy after the sun had gone down on his prime after Duran I think.

I think Hagler ducked McCallum, i really think Mike would have beat him.

Hagler could be beaten by slicker technicians.

I could even see Martinez getting it done, depending on the version of Hagler and the day it was fought on.

I can't say I'd pick anybody other than Roy Jones to beat Marvin 6 times out of 10 or more, but there are quite a few I think could snag one or two in a ten fight series.

Amazing fighter, all time great, legend, but not without his vulnerabilities. I don't hop on board the "OMG MARVIN BEATS EVERYBODY EVER" train.

I honestly dont see Monzon beating Hagler, so there is no one i would put on the list, if Monzon cant beat him no other can!

:good:good:good Thats why i dont see that fight as the proof someone would beat Hagler, i can not believe he made that mistake vs Leonard!!!
