From these retired non-heavyweight fighters (save for late career Toney) who have competed since the last time there was an undisputed heavyweight king, which fighters, if any, do you now think Usyk has surpassed on the all-time pound-for-pound list?

Why is Joe Calzaghe on that list?

The guy hid out in Wales defending a newly created belt for a decade. Don't put his name in serious all time p4p discussions.

Fair enough. I have Usyk shading him just on account of just how big a size difference there is between Usyk and the super heavies clogging up the division. But I can certainly respect your opinion on this one.

Wanted some filler for the poll. I think Usyk has surpassed him by some distance.

There's probably only an argument for Hopkins, he's clearly surpassed the rest.

All except Ward and Hopkins. He's on that level though. Ward seems underrated. Look at his resume.

I really do think Hopkins-Usyk is an interesting discussion. I'm conceptualizing the comparison in two parts: (1) their middleweight/cruiserweight runs and (2) their light heavyweight/heavyweight runs. Hopkins has more filler on his resume and a far longer reign as a middleweight champion than Usyk did at cruiserweight. The top names are better, too, but neither were natural middleweights. De La Hoya, in particular, never won a fight at middleweight on most scorecards. Trinidad beat Joppy, but didn't do much else. So are they really better than prime Briedis and Gassiev at their natural weights? I think the answer is categorically "no" for De La Hoya, at least. I'm fine with somebody saying Trinidad is the best win between them at these weights. Then you get into the comparison between Johnson, Joppy, Eastman, Allen, Holmes, Lipsey and Glowacki, Huck, Hunter, Bellew, Mchunu.

Comparing their second acts, Hopkins was a freak of nature being able to compete well into his 40s. It's underappreciated IMO. And again, he has more names and a longer list of victories than Usyk has at heavyweight (Tarver, Wright, Pavlik, Pascal, Cloud, Shumenov, shot Jones). But Usyk has the monumental win over Fury giving away 40 pounds and the two wins over a naturally bigger Joshua. Hopkins had to overcome substantial age disparities, while Usyk had to overcome substantial size disparities. I will say that Hopkins as a light heavyweight never reached the heights Usyk has, where he is now largely recognized as the P4P king. I think he was more vulnerable to a wider variety of styles and fighters than Usyk has been during his heavyweight run, as his athleticism and stamina faded considerably into his 40s.

Yeah....Usyk has lapped fighters like Calzaghe. Totally different stratosphere.

Ahead of all of them, some by a considerable distance (e.g. Calzaghe, who i have never rated that highly). And I have a real soft spot for some of those fighters, who were great fun to follow over the years (e.g. Toney, Trinidad). The only one in the running for the discussion is Hopkins, for me, who also achieved some incredible feats.

Hopkins and arguably Morales are the only 2 i'd say have a shout here and that comes from longevity and body of work.

None on the list are as great IMO because Undisputed Cruiser > Undisputed Heavyweight is such a crazy feat to have achieved.

    Hopkins

    Toney

    I have above Usyk.

The rest on the list I have Usyk above.

    All but Hopkins
Ward is close too, but Uysk surpasses them

I notice 2 big names missing from the list. Floyd and manny?

Do I think Usyk has surpassed those 2? Absolutely not lol

On second thoughts, has he surpassed Oscar? Maybe because he is undefeated, but Oscar had way better opponents

    Edit

I note RJJ is also missing. A mw that captured a title at HW is also probably greater
