There are some skinny guys , which have some really heavy hands when they punch ..... and I'm not talking about well trained skinny people ....
i'm talking about those skinny dudes which don't know nothing about boxing techniques , not trained, not ripped muscles etc, but with a heavy punch ..... what is the "secret" ??

....... also are trained people , with a ripped body , good/decent speed but they don't have that K.O power / "heavy hands" ...

A lot has to do with technique.
The way they deliver the punch, precision of the punch, the way they use their hips and legs and strong tendons.

My 6'1" (natural) MW brother hit harder as almost every HW I fought. He wasn't even exeptionally strong, but delivered perfectly timed punches that would knock you clean out.

Joking aside, the perfect punch comes from the flow of kinetic energy through the body which starts at the legs pushing back into the ground, flows into the abdominal area/hips, then travels up the back then through the arms which act as the final delivery system.....so technically the legs and abdominal strength is the key.

That's why you get bodybuilders with massive arms that can bench press a crapload of weight but cannot rotate their body to maximise the flow of kinetic energy and therefore cannot deliver a devastating punch.

Exactly and it explains where Tyson, Jones and Trindad generated their power.

Tall guys can get leverage on their punches. The farther the punch has to travel, the harder it'll be

For everyone saying techniques... I think the thread starter was talking about those guys who don't have good technique when it comes to punching.. who just happen to be someone you don't wanna get hit by. (Foremen as an example is often cited as a person who hits hard without throwing his punches properly.)

@ all , I understand that the entire body is involved in this process , but I refer at those people which have this natural gift , to punch hard . People which are not trained , don't know nothing about technique , don't have an impressive body / muscles but they have some really heavy hands when they punch !! They have "different" muscle fibres / bones ??

Denser muscle fibres perhaps, I think it may be something some people generally have knack for

They could have better inner-ear balance, higher than average coordination or something of that sort

The same as how some people are naturally quick. I could find someone the same age, size and ethnicity as me, and there could still be a disparity in speed that would not be able to be instantly explained by physical differences from the outside
