http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/n...g_night_ends_up_with_crowd_fighting_1_1765461 My local paper proper went to town with the boxing/violence link today with the headline "FIGHT NIGHT CHAOS" just when we were starting to get a few more local shows after years of no action, i got a feeling the council are going to jump on this and may be difficult to put on shows in the future!. it was in a shitty local nightclub (pretty unsuitable venue),and normally full of twats.all because Mark "pee wee " adams apparently dived over the ropes and ran into the crowd after he won!. I hope that the make the professional/charity difference and try to be grown up about this.I know that there is generally "pockets " of trouble at pro shows, i have seen it at many, just want to keep boxing in Northampton!!
I saw that, was away at another show at weekend though. My in laws mentioned it earlier and father in law comes to shows with me so had to explain it wasn't a proper licensed pro show. We haven't had shows for years here until last 2 years so hopefully this won't put promoters coming back to town eh Rhino
Yeh, been to a First Team show and Graham Earl's show plus First Team show at the Park Inn in town. I missed on the shows at the County Ground. I will usually go to support bringing pro boxing to town but the matches are often too easy for the house fighters. We've got one lad called Nathan Reeve who's had 2 fights now who looks like he could be decent, Spence, Lothian and Deacon are scrappers and can entertain - Spence is good to watch fights at 100 miles an hour and gets caught quite a lot too.
yep, lothian has been around for a bit, spence is a nutcase, used to speak to him about his fights. it's a shame the Alan Bosworth days are over, can't believe that they put the witter show on at the derngate, and he beat magic hatton, albeit on a disqualification. there's liam daly coming htrough, supposed to be pretty handy,,not sure whats happened to paul david?,think he went to the ingles for some fine tuning.
