Jeez, i want Maravilla to have a good payday. But the problem is, he's still too small and green to climb up again to SMW. Then he said the lowest he can go is 156, hence 154 isn't attractive for him. Probably, he might go back to 154 only if it's against Floyd or Pac.

But he already dismissed the possibility of fighting Pac - by using logic. Which in his right mind would agree (pac weigh-in plus full meal is 144). Then Floyd is on vacation.

It's frustrating to think where he could go from here on the basis of good payday and a challenging enough fight for us fans. Pilrog is still green and might be a good tuneup for Maravilla, but not a good payday, since super six, bute, pac, floyd are non options.

    :huh

He could still get some big easy paydays with fights with Cotto and Margo.
Maybe another one with Pavlik but Kelley is ducking him. (Mr. I dont want to exercise my rematch clause because I cant make 160 anymore but I can make 160 against Brian Vera)

But yeah, middleweight is dryed up.... so sad for Sergio.

Felix Sturm. It'd be good pay as Sturm is a big draw in Germany, and a unification fight. Sergio has the skills to pull a convincing enough decision win to actaully get it from the judges, but hopefully he'd land another sweet punch and take it out of their hands.

Agree, Felix Strum i guess is the "best" option as a next fight. After he's done with Strum, he'll be 36, i hope he's still at peak by then to get a good pay for his hard work.

No to SMW. No to Pac.

Floyd said he's 'interested' with the winner of PW/Martinez. Martinez says what's up? Floyd says quack.

Cotto, Margarito rematch, JCC Jr., Kirkland, Angulo, Cintron rematch, rubber match with P-Will, a fight with Foreman...there's alot offights out there for Sergio, just not the high profile ones

Cotto is a mismatch, he has no business at 156. I doubt Martinez would drain himself to 154 for a non-Floyd/Pac oppnonent.

Margo should stay away from high profile fights. It's better for his health, and people are now disinterested in him anyway. Fighting one to 3 more fights in Tijuana against low risk opponents for money is his only choice.

Rubber match with PWill is starting to be brighter than yesterday. The rest of that list are 154 fighters, some could probably go up to 160 though.

Who does Lou DiBella promo in/around Sergio's weight class?
(That would be a start for who he might fight next, If it ain't a "Super Fight")

Cotto, Margarito, JCC JR aren't stepping in the ring with him. If he can't get a Pacquiao or Mayweather fight he will stay at 160lbs. I doubt Dibella is even making phone calls yet, they're probably still celebrating the victory.

That's a very very very tall order my friend. No offsense, because i will be the happiest if that happens - but unlikely. Pac vs. Martinez is impossible enough, but "to me" that's far more possible than against Floyd.

I think the fight at 154 would make more sense (money) for Sergio compared to the fights at 160 (Sturm, Pirog, Golovkin, that French guy with a difficult to spell name) unless he's willing to fight in Europe

There isn't a lot of super fights for Martinez right now but he has plenty of options until then. First off I don't think he gets Mayweather, Pac, Cotto, or some of the big guys at his weight and I don't see him going to 168 though I wouldn't rule that 100% out. I don't think it will be Margarito either, Pac beat the marektability out of that fight and Arum would make more off a Cotto-Margarito match up.

Here's who I think will most likely face Martinez next

8 Martiroysan- He's not a huge name but HBO would buy it and Martinez would view this as an easy payday.

7 Sturm- The fight makes a lot of sense but I'm not sure Martinez would go to Euroope and Sturm probably isn't coming here.

6 Cintron- They did it once and it was a draw. Martinez won that fight and could want a bit of revenge here and if HBO did it once they do it again.

5 Mora- This is one of the better risk/reward scenarios for Martinez. Mora has name value and has been on HBO several times but wouldn't beat Martinez.

4 Pavlik- The fight would be big even if Pavlik's stock is dropping. The problem is I don't think Pavlik wants to face Martinez again but if he did it would be a big fight in Atlantic City.

3 Williams- A rubbermatch has lost some of its appeal but its still a good fight where both guys could make one of their biggest paydays. I think the early ko was the exception and not the rule here. I don't know if Williams takes the fight right away but he's a warrior and may want it.

2 Pirog- He's not quite ready for Martinez but I get the feeling he'd take the fight and HBO would probably be interested not to mention it would be a unification bout. He could have helped his cause by not sitting since winning his title.

1 Mosley- I really think Martinez could face Mosley next. If Shane doesn't get the Pac fight then I see him going here. They talked about it before and I think it might get started up again. Martinez wants big paydays and Mosley would be one while Mosley simply fights anyone.

A lot of guys coming up who will be ready sometime next year at 154-160 who could face a then 36 year old Martinez. Kirkland, Angulo, Lemieux, Jacobs, Alvarez, etc. Martinez has more options than you might think that would last him for several years if he wanted them. He might not get that Pacquaio/Mayweather payday he's looking for but he has some options out there.

are imo the only somewhat acceptable money fights but i honestly have no interest in any of them and Martinez would outclass all of them.

Pirog, Sturm, Dzinziruk, Golovkin would be the best quality competitive fights against title holders but little money so i don't see them happening.

Pavlik would be the money fight that would be most competitive but Sergio would win and i don't think Pavlik wants it.
