I am reading that it was a "one point either way" sort of fight.

Vazquez is a tough guy to decisively beat. I wouldn't be surprised if Mendez didn't win convincingly (I'll try to watch it later I guess) but it's pretty good to fight him to a "one point either way" sort of fight.

I thought he beat Bey too. What a horrible fight that was.

Not really Drenlou picked Mendez to win in Kirk's thread so his scores were biased as hell.:deal The rest of us thought Vazquez edged it, there were a lot of close rounds but Vazquez out hustled him in most of them. And one judge had it 99-91:lol::patsch

On what planet does Miguel lose 99-91 to anyone?

Mendez landed like 3 clean jabs per round:nut Vazquez outworked him on the inside and hit him with a ton of looping awkward shots easily enough to nick most rounds.

It only tells how close a fight really is.. 8-2 makes it look like a domination.. Also Rounds are scored on a round by round basis, and i will always choose cleaner more accurate punches over aggression ,Pertaining to scoring.

Anybody feel that Uzcátegui might be the biggest raw puncher @ 168? :think

    Or maybe 2nd after Groves?

Most of the real top 15 guys are only moderate punchers at best (Ward, DeGale, both Dirrell bros, Jack, Chudinov, Sturm, Murray, Fielding, Mundo - none of them really big hitters. Abraham's power didn't really carry up well from MW, he's a pretty average puncher at SMW. There is Ramirez Sanchez but he is generally more of a grinder by accumulation like a Leo Santa Cruz, though he does have a few blowout KO1 victories over tough guys and is pretty heavy-handed...)

Only seen Uzcátegu fight twice (last night and against Korobov) so I can't really say, but Bute and Jesse Hart can whack hard.

Even though he's a hypejob I do think Feigenbutz has a lot of raw power.
