Round 1

Charlo is working the jab, keeping Gonzalez at the end of it. Slick fade-away moves by Charlo, slinking in reverse with his chin tucked as Gonzalez takes a turn coming in with multiple jabs. Gonzalez is circling and then hopping in with flurries, caught and held for a moment and then released.

Round 2

Charlo is stymieing Gonzalez with the jab, throwing it once and twice, lightly and hard by turns. Gonzalez is backed into the ropes, and roaring off them with overhand rights but unable to land as Charlo drifts back and lines him up for more jabs.

Round 3

Big uppercuts on the body from Charlo. Gonzalez is falling back, blocking what he can, and throwing spirited uppers and chopping rights when Charlo pauses. Jabs by Charlo on the outside, setting up those whipping right uppercuts on the body. Gonzalez complains of one going low. Time in. More uppercuts on the body by Charlo. Gonzalez jumps to him with nothing flurries and pushes off to reset.

Round 4

Charlo is throwing his right hand up top and then slicing in with the left hook on the body. Gonzalez is moving with the punches and swatting back, circling to his right and then standing in a jittery stance, waving his gloves. Low blow by Charlo. Point taken. Time in. Gonzalez is ducking and circling away, dropping his butt low and shaking it, showboating a little.

Round 5

Charlo is stepping in and working off the jab, landing right hands across the gap and body shots when he can reach in with them. Gonzalez is skating to his left and throwing stay-away flurries. A cross puts Gonzalez down. He's up and getting pasted around the ring by Charlo, putting together pinball-launcher rights and head-body combos off the sharp jab stepping in. Gonzalez moves clockwise, staying near the ropes, scrambling in with flares of toothless cornered-animal offense. Charlo hurt him again just before the bell.
