Round 4

Perez is hooking the body of Romero from outside. Romero is growing bolder with his left jab, leaving it stuck out in Perez's way and scoring it on the chin of Perez but taking his receipt in the process, getting hurt with the left hooks traversing from his liver to his armpit. Perez doubles up on the hook, bringing it low to high. Romero is pushing forward, throwing at a downward slope with one hand and upward with the other, hoping to catch Perez in the middle, confusing him. Perez just steps outside calmly, picking shots off on his gloves and continuing to land precise jabs up top and hooks on the body.

Round 5

Perez dips in past a Romero jab and hooks into his lower jaw. Perez is circling to his left at medium-long range, doubling light jabs out at his reluctant pursuer. Romero is throwing single jabs, timidly pawing at the air, fully realizing that Perez will have circled away before he can touch him. Romero's body language conveys discouragement even as he continues pressuring. Perez jabs and turns Romero. Plunging jabs on the body by Romero, stuffed on the front of the knuckle pads of Perez's right glove as he quickly lowers it to intercept while taking a half-step back.

Round 6

Perez is jabbing and backing up, waiting for Romero and turning himself above the waist to slip Romero's wide hooks, countering with uppercuts with both hands. Perez circles left and jabs, then falls in and holds as Romero pushes a jab up past his shoulder and heaves atop him. Perez is dancing away, keeping range. Double jab and roll-over right by Romero, all just grazing the face as Perez drops his guard and skates backward taking care not to get hung up on the ropes. Perez throws a counter jab from outside, feeling out distance, then hooks Romero in the chest and shows a right uppercut to keep him at bay.

Round 7

Perez is slipping the jab and hooking Romero up and down. Hefty body shots by Perez while cutting left. Romero is throwing spirited jabs and chamois rights in spurts after following Perez around for stretches, staring at double jabs or walking into them, and hooked on the side every time Perez turns him.

Round 8

Perez is backing up and conserving energy by ducking low to let Romero whiff over his backside. Romero is stringing together double pawing jabs and sloppy right hand chops to get inside, transitioning into left hook and right uppercut combos once he is grinding into Perez at close quarters. Perez slips punches and backs up with pot shots on the body. Cuffing blows around the base of the neck by Romero. Flush right descending in behind the ear as Perez ducks and springs off the ropes. Perez tries some fancy maneuvering while slouched over but gets tagged with his eyes averted from his foe.
