FS1 Monday Night Fight: Michael Perez vs. Miguel Zuniga & Sadam Ali vs. Jay Krupp RBR

Whenever Tompkins was addressing Garcia with a question and Malignaggi wasn't even included in the conversation, his eyes were downcast and he was practically shuffling his feet like a little kid who doesn't get to play with the cool toys the privileged kid has. :yep

 

I think Jay Krupp has officially hit puberty, going by the peach fuzz.

So this is definitely a legal sanctioned pro bout. Everybody is a grown up.


...WHAT? :yikes Krupp is 30? ...and that is all the facial hair you can muster? :err Just...give up the ghost, man. Bic it all off. Not meant to be. You will never become the bassist of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

 

Round 1

Ali meets Krupp in the middle of the ring as Krupp emerges with bad intentions throwing jabs and right hands. Ali is dancing in and out popping Krupp in the lip with his quick left jab. Krupp is laughing off the jabs and coming in for more despite getting hit with a very high percentage. Ali stumbles, almost having to put a glove on the canvas to steady himself but not coming near actual contact. Krupp thinks he can take advantage, rushing in, but gets wobbled off balance himself by a counter left hook from Ali. Krupp hops in place and comes forward with a 1-2-3 to head and body. Ali counters with a left hook. Leaping HOOK BY KRUPP AT THE BELL DROPS ALI ON HIS BUTT!!

That hook that scored the knockdown was partially blocked and it was as much a tackle/push as true knockdown, but it should have counted. They cut to commercial just as it happened, so we don't know if the ref officially ruled it a knockdown, but he should have. It was clearly before the bell and the punch clearly made Ali fall even though other factors played in (being tilted back off balance, Krupp rushing in with it and basically pushing the punch into him)

 

Round 2

Krupp is using the peekaboo style, leaning to either side and pressuring, throwing straight left jabs from his guard and pulling them straight in. Ali circles and counters with jabs and 1-2s. Krupp is looking to jerk back and dodge the 1-2 and come back with a chopping right hand counter. Ali is too quick for it. Combination by Ali, rocking Krupp back.

19-18 Krupp

 

Ali can always chalk up that 1st round hiccup to ring rust, but still, you have to wonder if Schaeffer isn't thinking "WTF did we invest in here? :twisted:" after seeing him struggle on his nationally televised main event showcase.
