    Eighth and ninth to Douglas.

    Given that he scored two early knockdowns and from the sound of it Santos only made claim to a single frame between 3rd & 7th, safe to say this one is now academic.

    I'm not upset to have missed the first 70% of this, if this is what it was like. (though I do always love to see anybody JTFD...but I'm sure FS1 is going to include a replay at the end, as there haven't been many other "highlights" to recap from the look of it)

    Well, that was "Super O" Douglas' television debut (unless you count a GFL internet stream appearance on the undercard of Cornelius Lock vs. Will Gonzalez) and it was pretty underwhelming for a hyped unbeaten prospect. He works the body well and has a gas tank, but otherwise... :conf Meh. Very one-gear, not blazing fast... little to set him apart in the fairly stacked 130lb division.

    Thing is, all fighters deserve respect and everything is relative, but...

    Compared to your average yokel in the gym in any city, he's quite good. By regional club fighter standards, he's pretty exceptional. Judged as someone purportedly being hyped as potentially elite by people that have worked closely with a true elite (such as Paul Williams) making his TV debut with an unbeaten record and given an opponent he could pretty much do with as he pleased - he definitely left a lot to be desired. :-(

    Mind you I only saw the last three rounds (plus the highlights FS1 showed...huzzah, JTFD!! :happy) but most of your comments indicate that 1-7 were pretty similar.

    I'd wager Douglas has a hard road just to climb his way into the United States' top 15 at super feather...let alone making a dent in the world rankings.

    BoxRec puts him at #14, above Ryan Kielczewski (rated #18 currently), for instance, and he definitely isn't better than Kielczewski at present.
