Vasquez looks like he has the goods to be a force in the division.

Anyone know his record vs Spence in the amatuers?

I know Spence beat him at least once, narrowly, on points, in the Olympic trials.

Vasquez had a chance to wedge his way back into a rematch with Spence if he got by Amir Imam, but he came up a little short in that one too.

Right now Vasquez is about where Sadam Ali was this time around last year. I'm very curious to see what happens next for both of them.

I don't have the same concerns with Vasquez's chin I do with Ali's.

I just love fights like these where only true fans are around. You have weirdos all over in the so called "mega bouts" with their flaming and nonsense. I can't imagine what Canelo vs Cotto RBR thread will look like.

Thanks.....that would be real interesting fight. Both guys are so fast with their hands....it might come down to a couple punches difference.

But he was hurt against Stevenson. :deal

    Good chin, but not iron.

Vasquez did get somewhat close to a medical stoppage in the Omotoso fight though with all the blood, he was perhaps lucky it wasn't a 12 rounder and the ref wasn't British.

James Stevenson did have him walking sideways at one point...but Emmanuel Lartey wobbled Spence, so that kind of evens out.

    Was it legit?

Spence has two wins over imam in the Olympic trials but I know people who said imam won both clear as day.
