I'm a big fan of Brian Castaño, who is another excellent MW contender, but their WSB match was fairly close - it wasn't a schooling at all.

Who calls Gvodzyk and Derevyanchenko robotic? Well; I know who but it makes me wonder if they are that narrow minded and agenda laden or just trying to elicit a reaction?

Derevyanchenko isn't robotic. Brian Castano vs Derevyanchenko was an amazing fight - probably my favourite WSB fight and it was very close even if he did lose. I had a feeling that if it went on for longer, Derevyanchenko would've beaten Castano.

All you guys, get off of @rojoparanoico's ass, he said what he said in jest, he doesn't think Derevyanchenko is robotic, it was tongue in cheek. He and I are both high on Castano, and he wanted to up Brian a little bit, and that's fair, because Brian did legit beat Sergiy.

    10-9 Derevyanchenko
    10-8 Derevyanchenko despite no KD.
Down goes Johnson and the ref finally waves it off.

Post-fight thoughts... Great phone both action. Despite the wide card on my part is was by no means any easy night for Derevyanchenko.

Also.... This fight should have been stopped sooner. This is kind of fight where a traumatic brain injury could have occurred. Johnson while game was eating wait too many shots and probably should have been taken out before the 11th round, at the very least they should have thrown the towel in during the 11th or taken him out once the round was through. Good fight, but glad I didn't seen the fight live. Had the same gut wrenching watching this as I did during Groves/Gutknecht.

Derevyanchenko was showcasing the kind of angles and movement that Lomachenko and Usyk did early on, really nullifying Johnsons relentless aggression when it would have been most effective. He'd get pinned in the corner and spin out almost like a ballerina. That was about as clinical and elegant of a performance you'll see from a fighter who's put himself into a phone both war. Apart from that round where Johnson landed those uppercuts(I think 7?) and the odd moment afterwards it was nearly flawless for the kind of fight he fought.
