- Sergiy has good defensive responsibility. Reliable.
- Sergiy needs to clinch more, use elbows and manipulate his opponent with his own glove at closer range to avoid getting into close range crossfire that he doesn't need to be involved in.

 

Really fun first round. Both guys had their moments, but Sergei's cleaner work carries the frame.

 

Johnson is giving it to Derevyanchenko. He's winning this round.

 

Great body work, some killer body shots there from Derevyanchenko.

 

while I like the idea of Johnson coming right for him it looks like he's gonna run into a bomb

 

Nice comeback from Derevyanchenko near the end of the round.

 

They both suck. Would be nice if somethere there was actually breaking down the brilliant technical stuff Derevyanchenko's doing.

Johnson's punches will wear down Derevy in championship rounds, but Derevy is landing the kind of punches that wears Johnson down a lot earlier, so....

 

Second round closer, Johnson won the first minute but Derevyanchenko seemed to come back enough to win the round.

 

Derevyanchenko was shaken at the start of the second, but came back nicely as the round progressed. It's a bit rugged, but awfully fun to watch.
