FSN Top Rank Live: Ulises Solis vs. Eric Ortiz & Mark Melligen vs. Anges Adjaho RBR

Ulises Solis will be in a showcase against vastly experienced tomato can (and sometimes upset-springer) Eric Ortiz. It's actually a rematch of a 2006 contest in which Solis scored a ninth round TKO. Solis is on the comeback trail after losing to Brian Viloria, and has begun regaining some confidence by warming up his own leftovers, recently retiring the tough Bert Batawang in six rounds (who he'd previously stopped in the 9th back in 2007).

The co-feature promises to be very competitive, however. The raw but hard-hitting welterweight from the Philippines, "Mighty" Mark Jason Melligen aka "MJM Grand" will be taking on Anges Adjaho, the Beninese fighter who held Miguel Acosta to a split decision in a loss, widely outpointed Fernando Angulo, and then fought tough with Tony DeMarco before being counted out in bizarre fashion while ahead on the cards, complaining of a foul by DeMarco and "acting" in the eyes of many.

You jerks usually ignore my Solo Boxeo RBR threads, which indicates you've just not been interested in the offerings of the resurrected and formerly beloved series - but this is a GOOD night of fights. You should all tune in...and of course IB will be providing the round by round call. :yep

 

They still put on good cards featuring competitive match-ups between up-and-comers or hardworking third-tier boxers, you dinks just don't tune in anymore! :yep

Last Friday's had a competitive main event with a disappointing finish. :verysad Pablo Cesar Cano got a total gift in his SD win over Colombian visitor Oscar Leon. It's some of the worst home-cooking you'll see all year.

On the bright side, there was a prospect named Marco Periban who utterly thrashed Jason Naugler.
