Outside of Cokes, Rodriguez, Napoles and Lopez (against who I see him having little joy) I'm nothing near clued up enough on the others apart from Harris, whom I've only read about.
I do get the impression though that parallels could be drawn with Hatton: the powerfully physical and effective(ish) but limited type who struggled once he moved up and found that he couldn't rag the other other bloke any which way.

I think Hatton is better, and would beat him.

But yeh, he wont have much success at Welter IMO.

Interestingly JWW was a pretty decent era when Fuji came tops, you had Perkins, Locche, a young Rodrigo Valdez etc..

I agree that Hatton would have probably beaten him. Try to 'box' him as he did Tackie. I've got a bit of a soft spot for Ricky if I'm honest.

The Locche/Perkins/Lopopolo/Hernandez era is underrated at times. It was the only era where Valdez was stopped I think (though it was only his 10th fight).

Nah, Hatton has to smother him to win, if he stays on the outside for too long he is going to get tagged and KO'd.
