Tough to tell, I dont know enough about Mundine other than he got KOed by Ottke, which is one of life's great mysteries by the way
I fancy Zuniga by KO, don't really know a lot about either fighter but Mundine just irritates me, I've seen Zuniga knock down Pavlik so I think he can stop Mundine seeing as he got KO'd by Ottke.
Agreed. I'd be lying out my ass if I tried to act like I know **** about Mundine other than ESB poster recounts. But what I will say, and firmly believe is that Fulgencio Zuniga is big time under rated and unfairly un-noticed by the boxing faithful when he's clearly a skilled un-godly workrate, decent power (KO'd Oganov's ass:hey ), just all out a good fighter to watch and root for. Zuniga is the only mo'fo' that I've ever seen back Pavlik across a ring and have his back against the ropes. Not to mention the left hook from hell KD in the first.
One has to admit, in the mid'rounds he was bringin' that **** to Pavlik too. I said above, it's the only time I can recall seeing Pavlik getting driven back wards and taking punishment on the ropes. Was a HELL of a fight, right there.:deal Jermain Taylor, Olympic Medalist and at the time Undisputed MW Champion of the World is the only other fighter I've seen have such success against Pavlik.
We've talked about this before, but that knock down was crazy. Kelly's ass hit the deck and slid about 3 feet across the canvass!! Whether people want to acknowledge it or not Zuniga at 160 would probably be either the second best or 3rd best in the world. I haven't made up my mind between him and abraham.
I heard that my man. And as far as what I could understand, we were real close to finding out (Zuniga vs Abraham was in the works recently if I understood right, but something happened...ABC not approved or some ****). What was it boo, the 6th or 7th round Zuniga backed Pavlik across the ring and was dishing some **** out on the ropes? Also it is a perfect fight to show anybody that likes to speculate about a) Pavlik's inside fighting skills b) Pavlik's counter punching abilities c) Pavlik's heart on display full throttle. Zuniga is a bad ass mother ****er, fo' sho'. Off topic, did I understand your post the other day to say you're from Oregon? If so, COOOL, I met some fine folks from Oregon in the military years. If so, are you familiar with a town called Denver, Oregon?? I had a super fine lady friend I spent time with in Chicago (the kind you will remember forever) that was from that town.:yep
I still havent watched that fight all the way through but I did catch that left hook, it was like a wake up call to Pavlik
Very much like a hero of mine, Zuniga mixes insane workrate with damn good accumulative power. And on top of that he has movement like he's jacked up on 50 RedBulls. Boo, I would like to hit you PM if you don't mind.
Points decision to Mundine. Mundine hasn't been hurt since the 2001 KO by Ottke He has fought Kessler,Echols and Green who are all big punchers.
Dude this fight is a MUST see. Ask the Pavlik Nation Speaker of the House = booradley.:yep I tried everything in my power to get you a copy, but to no avail. It was a sickening kind of fight, two absolute skilled scrappers, ****in' scrappin...blood got damn every where.
If you have the means, it's highly recomended. You'll see our boy Pavlik fighting back adversity like no other time I can recall other than JT 1. It almost looked at times like the mighty Zuniga had Pav's #, until (and the Calzombies would never believe it) he made fine adjustments and gained control later in the fight with momentum clearly swinging Pav's way before the cut stopped the fight. (Cut caused by punch, hence the TKO).
