Full Chris Eubank Jr. Sparring Session Ahead Of Billy Joe Saunders Fight

gonna watch it thx, but before i do. if he doesnt knockout his sparring partner in 30seconds hes useless, because everyone is basing his ability on his round with froch. rofl

 

Who's the spar partner? A quick southpaw welterweight?

I liked how Jr got better as the spar went on, adapting to the southpaw style and outworking him inside.

 

"Eubanks has a lot of knowledge on the inside. I'd like to see him develop midrange jabs and more subtle steps, still a straight up beast".

He's already got the long jab and the uppercut.

That's like saying.. "I'd like to see him have a jab like Mike Tyson".

 

Or a jab like the great Rocky Marciano.

 

after watching this going to stick my house on Saunders, JR walks the wrong way round the ring fighting a southpaw, jumps in with shots an looks scared to be hit...

 

Jr might have the chin and punch though to walk BJS down and take him out. He's awkward when he dips in front of you and evades on his way up, and has great hand speed in shoeshining body/guard flurries that could allow random uppercuts in on BJS. BJS is surely the better textbook technician with the more consistent workrate and quicker neater punching. Jr is snappy though and has to throw BJS out of his rythm.

 

Fairly obvious from that that the game plan is to target Saunders body.

Think this will be a good ploy.

Obviously a lack of head movement on the ropes due mainly to looking for counters.

Good thing is when put under pressure his feet never stop moving which is excellent and those short little uppercuts really are good to watch.

Can't wait for this. My tickets are on the mantle piece!!!

 

Eubank looks good at times when he lets his shots go and steps in with his uppercut however makes lots and lots of silly mistakes. He better hope he has his dads chin

I don't think this spar will have anything to do with tactics. Just for fitness. All aspects of tactics will be behind closed doors. I think Eubank will shock everyone and fight on the back foot for 6 rounds then jump on him when he tires

 

I could see that happening as well, but I strongly believe the body is the target and for me that came through in the spar as well.

 

The body has to be the target.

BJS is so soft and doughy around the midsection that it's only a matter of time before he gets stopped with a body shot.

 

Yeah Saunders will have trained harder for this one I believe but I suspect he will still be a little soft around the middle.

I think Eubank is going to look massive next to Saunders as well. He is a big guy.

Silly Ho is in for some horrific punishment. I hope the PPV includes the hiding he receives from his dads chain after his humiliating KO loss to CEJ
