The Lonsdale one looks to have better visibility. I personally can't stand headgear that suffocates peripheral vision, but then again maybe there is an advantage to that in terms of learning to read an opponent's body movements and intentions.

I've used full face guards a few times in sparring and tbh i'm not overly keen. Can't see **** in them. They give you a tunnel vision.

i found sparring with the smallest head gear the best , seem to be able to slip and use more head movement

however when i get back to sparring soon i think im going to have to invest in my own full faced head guard new job where i wont get away with being marked up i dont reckon !

going to look like a tosser when i walk in with a winning f500 full faced head guard with nose bar :lol::lol::lol:

Same with me, I'm the only guy that uses the full face at my gym, but it's due to not being able to have black eyes for work.. Most guys know why I use one..

But it does seem that they don't hold back as much against me in sparring.

we spar without headguards bare knuckles and on fridays we usually put in a few fullcontact elbows/knees and maybe a kick or 2 depending on our barbaric mood

Stay away from anything with a chin pad. Those are typically low end mma headgear. And a padded chin doesnt do a damn thing.

Stuff to look for in a facebar headguard: Size/weight (not too huge), visibility, protection for the rest of the head besides the nose.

I use to have the reyes with the bar

unfortunately whenever i took a straight shot to the bar it would push the whole bar onto my nose and gave me nose bleeds

i also couldnt see **** in it and felt like an astronaut

now i light spar with no headgear or i wear open face, much better.

Had a Reyes full face headguard. Hated it. I got it after haviung my nose operated on after breaking it in a fight. Didn't want it roken in sparring so bought one. It was shite. Visibility wa terrible. couldn't see any upercuts and was getting caught with far more punches than usual. Sold it on ebay. I like wearing a kids headguard as it doesn't imapir vision and doesn't move.

To those that had the Reyes facebar headguards; which type of bar did you have?

nylon. they take time to get use to but in the long run is the best in terms of safety. after getting use to them the only bad thing about them is the bar itself. for some reason its easier for my mexican opponents to position an upper cut.
