I honestly think Martinez's Lack of respect is going to give him a false sense of security and we will notice this the first time Chavez Jr makes contact, we got us a beat down on our hands here, Jr is playing the role here, taking advantage of the blatant disregard for his abilities. Martinez gets walked down and knocked out in this fight 9 or less, and the New
Serigo will be like a ghost and will stop Jr in around 6 rounds, and we will all say we knew the outcome beforehind. This is so onesided its not close.
Great face off. Probably the best since Cotto/Margarito. There is definite tension there. Personally, I think Martinez is trying to get Jr. to come out and be aggressive, figuring that will lead to more opportunities to counter.
Man this was a great square off!!! This fight is going to be intense, we finally got what we've been waiting for! Martinez-"I'm probably going to make you retire from this beatdown." Chavez jr-"On Sept. 15, while im knocking you out I'll be whoever you want me to be" I cant wait.
I saw/heard a lot of this from the face-off: A: I'm going to beat you. B: No you won't. A: Yes I will. B: Nope!
Excellent faceoff. However I have seen this too many times now and I just want to write down what were the moments of this situation: -Max Kellerman presents Junior as the fighter that increasingly has stepped up and maybe about to fight at Sergio's level. And Max represents the HBO staff. -Maravilla controls the whole debate and even puts questions to Junior. He is more realistic about himself and about the fight itself than most of us. It's true that Junior was a puppet being put as a WBC Silver MW Champ against Duddy and then fighting Zbik for the major title whereas Sergio just remains the linear Champ which is ... kinda coward even when Junior admits he was not prepared and he is now... But Sergio already knew that, the progression or rise in his last four fights, I would say in his last three ( Duddy, Zbik and Lee). - Sergio knows that Julio is gonna have a tough time catching him so he tells him how it is and shows total belief that his punches and Junior's defense will take it either to the doctor ( cuts, swollen/shut eyes, bloody nose), his or Junior's corner throwing the towel or the ref saving Junior. -Junior did nothing to control the debate, he even didn't discuss why was he put in this position, he just went to the theme of strategy and let Sergio know that he's tryin to cut off the ring. Then he says that his size matters but his boxing IQ ( which is the result of experience) is gonna help him taking it. Sergio immediately says if that's the case then he's gonna lose cause, let's face it, Sergio been around 10 years out of his homeland to train in Spain, fighting in the US and taking all the upsets, Margo, Cintron, the first PW's fight, and Junior is just defending his dad's name... -Sergio just doesn't respect Junior as a boxer and has a low opinion of the mexican heritage of all Hell breaks loose kinda fight and Junior just answers back with Margo who is possibly 10 times tougher than him no matter that they're both mexicans and even Margo was stopped by the doctors and ref against Cotto.
blah blah blah... jr won by taking a usual kind hearted man out of his zone and turning him into a trash talker......period
