    This is his first PPV fight. He is trying to sell the fight and he is trying to create drama. If Martinez was being his normal respectful self do you think you would find yourself writing this thread? No. You and the rest of the posters here would be complaining of how boring the Face Off and all the promotion leading up to the fight.

    With all due respect, Martinez never trash talked and that DNA detail to identify him later is brilliant. I am neutral in this bout and if Junior deserves it, I am all for Junior. But tell me one thing Freddie - How come Junior won against Zbik if he was outlanded 9 rounds to 3? Let's believe that Sergio won't capitalize on a 6ft2in tall man who sets things up inside with body shots and whose head snaps and gets marked red with str8 punches ( Zbik fight)... R the judges gonna give it again to Junior even if he is outlanded in such a way??

    The draw was a robbery though since he should have won by stoppage or a UD in the that fight.

    The lose was a close fight of the year type fight which could have gone either way.

    Also Martinez only got the Pavlik fight once Paul Williams against Pavlik fight couldn't be made.

    Not sure what you are implying?
    But that Pavlik fight was supposed to be a soft but creditable touch for Pavlik.

    doesn't matter what it is, it's on paper....exactly, he was given a gift to fight pavlik, and he knows it....reason why he should understand the politics, and have hate towards the bigger men, not the fighters......

    i'm implying the facts...

    sergio hates jr cause he said he was given a title, or didnt deserve it...yet admits he's gotten better since (which is what champs are supposed to do), but doesn't respect him since once you're a champ, you have to be great already, and fight the best....which i understand

    but maravilla came off a loss, and a draw when he got his title shot so what the **** is he crying about.....not jrs fault maravilla vacated

    He was tryin to wear Zbik down by going downstairs hard but Zbik landed so many effective punches upstairs, only the two last rounds he showed signs of fatigue. It's unbelievable how you land more than 100 punches and you lose by MD and 116-112, 115-113 scores. Same thing happened to Felix Sturm against ODLH... Quality:verysad

    Talk is cheap and I will admit, Martinez is the better speaker but thank god boxing isn't fought in a debate, it's fought with fists.

    The bolded is a lie, Martinez has said he thinks' Mexicans are some of the greatest boxers of all time, he just doesn't respect Jr. He has all the admiration in the world for Chavez Sr and has said it in the past.

    He's just amping Jr up and I honestly think Jr isn't intimidated in the least. It's not rocket science as to what each man has to do, they know it, we know it and the trainers know it.
