Oh I full know what roach said. I know its bussiness ploy and the fight will eventually be made at 147 lbs. Its just a negotiating tactic to see if they can get some money off Floyd first. But the fact that Manny made Cotto fight at 145 lbs for a belt that was solely made up to sell this fight leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. So basically it comes down to the fact that I just get annoyed when Freddy talks about catch weights. I'll get over so long as the fight doesn't happen at 145. After last weekend we can all agree that that would be ******ed.

alright ppl let me explain this to you, nice and clear.

reason roach wants floyd to agree on 145 because he knows floyd will come in 2 pounds over. this means he will be 147 which is proper welter limit.

if they agree to fight at 147 and floyd comes in 2 pounds over that will make him 149 on the scale (light middleweight) and who the hell knows how big he will blow up by fight nite.

thats too big of a disadvantage.

I do question some people's reading comprehension skills on here. Roach didn't say 145 or no fight. He said you can come in weighing anything up to 147 but how ever much above 145 depends on how much money he wants to pay. Floyd chose to pay to come in 2 pounds over versus Marquez so what's the problem? Oscar got him to agree to a catchweight, and Oscar honored it. He would have been crucified had he spend money to come in heavier versus Floyd.

Besides, Floyd would be a fool to weigh in at 147 against Manny. He's not a physical fighter and needs more speed to match Manny's. Apound or two under 147 would suit him just fine.

Roach is saying that Pac will beat Mayweather at 147 but Mayweather still has to pay for that advantage. thats the bottom line. People who tihnk there's a contradiction need courses in logical reasoning.

Basically, to explain things in simple terms:

Pac will beat Floyd at 147 EVEN IF FLOYD IS BIGGER, but he will beat Floyd EASIER at a catchweight SINCE THEY WOULD BE ABOUT THE SAME SIZE.

I hope Cotto didn't have to follow a clause for his weight on fight night. It seems Freddie is taking advantages on certain situations, the truth will be told soon.

Just to clarify something as to Manny being the first seven weight division champ. If you are counting minor belts then Camacho is also their with him and perhaps others. I believe DLH is the only fighter with six "major" belts? Manny has about five.:good

Its not minor belts being counter, its lineal/ring belts + ABC belts. The lineal/ring belts are worth more anyhow. You cant tell me he's a champ for beating Diaz but not for MAB, who was the champ and the only reason he didnt hold an ABC belt was because of politics, he did hold the Ring belt and was the lineal champ...same with Hatton.
